We buy our lobsters and lobster meat right at the seafood co-op where the lobster boats come in.  Not sure about supply chain in this scenario.  But I'm sure fuel and labor costs have gone up.

It looks like the falling fertility rate on land in the U.S. has reached the Maine lobster grounds.

Hey lobsters, the CDC didn't mean you when they said social distance everybody!

Fewer lobstermen?  Higher demand?  People do generally have more money on hand than a year ago.

Our family has a place in Maine that we visited three times this year.  The Lobster prices are higher than I have ever seen them in 35 years we have been going there.  Regular lobster rolls around $30 each.  Last year they were $17-$20.  We buy fresh lobster meat at the local seafood place and it was averaging $65-$70 per pound (tails and claws).  Last year $30-$35.  So if they do offer a whole Maine lobster at an upcharge this year on the ship be prepared for sticker shock.  Like everything else in the US these days.  Prices on everything out of control.

I’m in New Brunswick, Canada and it’s now lobster season. The prices are 10.50 per lb live and 11.50 per lb cooked. Canadian prices of course, so that’s cheap in US dollars. I didn’t notice the lobster rolls increasing much this year. They were selling them for $10 in my town. They shouldn’t have been that high in Maine this year.

Price of oil went up though, costs more to transport it

Red lobster sells live lobster cooked about $33 for a 1.25-1.5lbs Maine lobster that one is welcome to pick out
