cruisewiththekids Posted November 22, 2021 #1 Share Posted November 22, 2021 Is it just me, or does it seem like these fees are higher than pre-pandemic?
Old Fart Cruisers Posted November 22, 2021 #2 Share Posted November 22, 2021 Some port fees are based on the size or capacity of the ship, as opposed to per passenger. If the ship is operating at reduced capacity there are fewer passengers to split the cost, so the per person cost would be higher in that case.

day-day Posted November 22, 2021 #4 Share Posted November 22, 2021 Mine are cheaper for my 2021 and 2022 cruises when compared to my cruise in 2015. Different ship but same departure port and same itinerary. $10.50 and $1.00 less than the 2015 cruise.
Rare BlerkOne Posted November 22, 2021 #5 Share Posted November 22, 2021 Likely just you, but those aren't something Carnival has any control over.
glrounds Posted November 22, 2021 #6 Share Posted November 22, 2021 (edited) I recently canceled a cruise on the PANORAMA for Jan.29 and a week later got a Platinum offer for the same ship, same itinerary, same cabin (inside), solo for $261 for EVERYTHING a month later ! The port taxes and fees were more than the actual passage. I still turned it down as I'm waiting to avoid the pre-testing requirement. Can you see desperation ?
