Rare babs135 Posted December 4, 2021 #1 Share Posted December 4, 2021 Strange how memories just pop into one's head for no apparent reason. Did people really have a conversation about these biscuits or am I imagining it? I've had a scroll through here and found nothing but...... Assuming they exist(ed) are they available on the Queen Elizabeth or were they unique to the QM2?

Assuming they exist(ed) are they available on the Queen Elizabeth or were they unique to the QM2? For some reason, cookies are often not put out in the morning and if I occasionally wanted a cookie with my morning coffee, I asked in the Lido [QV] and 'an under the counter cookie' appeared. I took it up to the Grill's lounge one day and from then on, a cookie appeared with my morning latte. Service with a smile morphed into 'service with a smile and a cookie'! 🙂
Rare babs135 Posted December 4, 2021 Author #3 Share Posted December 4, 2021 Thanks for confirming my memories. Will have to remember to ask for a cookie when we're on the Elizabeth in July
bluemarble Posted December 4, 2021 #4 Share Posted December 4, 2021 This may be the conversation (from November 2017) you are remembering.
Rare babs135 Posted December 4, 2021 Author #5 Share Posted December 4, 2021 Yep. Knew I hadn't imagined it. Don't know why it didn't come up when I checked but thanks Blue Marble. On the ball as usual.

Rare tacticalbanjo Posted December 6, 2021 #7 Share Posted December 6, 2021 On a summer trip on QE my husband was unable to locate any cookies even after asking staff possibly because the buffet was closed between afternoon tea and dinner. I was 5 months pregnant at the time and cried from sheer disappointment. They really are that delicious.
Rare Victoria2 Posted December 6, 2021 #8 Share Posted December 6, 2021 I love the chocolate chip cookies but can take or leave the cranberry [?] ones.
wenlyn Posted December 13, 2021 #9 Share Posted December 13, 2021 Disembarked today - the entire 12 days on QM2 there were only white chocolate chip and cranberry cookies in the buffet (despite a sign saying assorted cookies every day) 😞

lissie Posted December 14, 2021 #11 Share Posted December 14, 2021 Who cares? Now the battenberg cake was to die for and appeared in the QE buffet most afternoon tea times (presumably it was in the Queens room afternoon tea too but the queue put us off)

I love chocolate but not mixed with cranberry.

An alternative pairing: ginger bread and garlic also came to mind.
