The top thing to do is take a boat to El Arco (the Arch) which is at the tip of the peninsula, where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific. Many of the boats that do this trip have glass bottoms which are fun, and many include a stop at a nearby beach. That's my take. When you get off the tender (Navigator) where do you find the glass bottom boat tours to the Arch? Are there several tour boats that offer this? Do you need to make a reservation in advance? Mike45LC Posted January 11, 2022 #28 Share Posted January 11, 2022 When you get off the tender, the tour salesmen will swarm you, offering all sorts of tours, including the glass-bottom boats to the Arch (with stops at Lover's Beach, the sea lion rocks and Medano Beach). No reservations needed, and there are dozens of boats giving the rides. If you have a reservation, you would need to find which of the boats is yours. Instead, you just negotiate a fare with any of the salesmen and let him escort your group to the boat he has a deal with. $10 to $15 per person should be good. It's almost uncomfortable for me at times with the repetition of offers. Parts of Medano Beach are the same. Mike45LC Posted January 13, 2022 #30 Share Posted January 13, 2022 Sys, welcome to Mexico! Aggressive salesmanship is the norm. But a smile, a wave and a simple "no, gracias" is all it takes! It does get tiresome quickly, but it is part of the charm (I guess).
2wheelin Posted January 15, 2022 #31 Share Posted January 15, 2022 When we are in Mazatlan in a couple weeks, I would like to go to Stone Island but also hike up to the lighthouse. Is the lighthouse walking distance from the ship—we are in good shape—and is it in the same direction as the boat to Stone Island?
