January 2022 Update: HAL Dry Docks, Charters & Groups Onboard

I had really hoped that this first listing for 2022 would herald the start of a return to normality, but the latest variant has put paid to that for a while.

Anyway, here is the latest update of the Dry Docks, Charters and Groups Onboard file.

A considerable number of charters and group sailings organisations have postponed their sailings from 2020 and 2021 until 2022 and now are starting to post 2023 Charters and Group sailings.  For that reason the information here may change over the coming weeks and months,  as more groups feel that they can safely return to cruising.  It is expected that as the situation further improves many additional charters and groups will reconfirm their cruising intention, so stay tuned for further updates.

Please note that the sailings listed are taken from various sources so it is possible that the itinerary does not coincide with the currently published HAL itinerary.   Also, there are still gaps in HAL's published schedules that are proving difficult to explain.

As usual, if you have information about groups charters or dry docks then please post here and I will update in the next file.

Interesting how they still show a Continuing Education Group onboard the Rotterdam for March 6 - 13.  That cruise has been cancelled.

How can the Nieuw Amsterdam go so long without a drydock?  I thought they were required every 3 years.  Anything planned?

In my grumpy old age I don't really like it when a large group "takes over" the ship with special events, slowing down elevators, etc.

 

The Dry Dock postings are interesting as well.

Is there any way to find out how large the group is?  The Gospel Music group that was on the Nieuw Amsterdam Feb. 5th sailing has been moved to the Rotterdam February 5th sailing.  We are trying to figure out how this will impact our sailing.
