You are overnighting there but have to be on the ship by 9PM?

Yes. The Captain said shops and restaurants by the pier would be open until 9PM and then everything would close and the area would be dark. So it could be a safety issue. We decided to stay on board, currently waiting for the Aqua show to start.

I'm wondering if it's a covid-related curfew.

Usually the shops in st kitts close down when the last ship sails but I am sure they were not prepared to stay open later tonight at last minute notice. Nothing much to do in the town during the day let alone after hours and it is dark so if the shops are closed then I imagine it is a safety issue. Why allow passengers wandering in the dark with nothing open.

I don't know. The only overnights that I have done on a cruise was Bermuda and you could come and go from the ship 24 hrs. a day.

We have done overnights in San Francisco, Nassau and Bermuda with no curfew for any of them.  We had actually considered getting a hotel in Sonoma but ended up going back to the ship.

Between covid and the unplanned overnight, they must have decided it was safer for all.

I have never had an overnight with RCCL but every other line, it's always been come and go as you please - aside from Russia. I'm admittedly not very familiar with St Kitts and what there is to do in the evening or what their rules are.

Very true, St. Kitts is hardly like San Juan at night. Other than just walking around I can think of anything to do there at night.... other than use a few free wifi spots that I have found.

Once you walk out of the port shop area, there is nothing other than a couple bars/restaurants. We have walked the town during the day and it is quite baren.

There is a casino right at the pier. :classic_biggrin: I won $80 dollars on my first spin and cashed out.

Good win! The casino onboard closed at 4 PM and will not re-open until after we leave here tomorrow evening.

I often wonder....due to the aggravation of quarantine on testing positive, and all that entails, if any cruisers, perhaps experiencing only mild symptoms, don't present for testing. Irresponsible? Sure it's is, but........

I always love seeing the islands all lite up.   Looks so pretty.

I am 98.9% sure our sailing to PR will be switched around next week and I hope we get to do an overnight at either St. Maarten or St Kitts or any of the islands🤩

I always look forward to seeing the islands lit up, too, even if it is as we sail by.

You're definitely not going to Puerto Rico.

Depending on your itinerary, you will either get an overnight in St. Maarten, or re routed to Puerto Plata, DR.  Some ships have gotten an extra day at sea and a credit, but it seems like most in the last few days have been rerouted.

Does anyone know if they are doing the shoes on this cruise? For example, the broadway shoe, ice shoe and aqua show, etc.

No Mama Mia on this cruise, I do not know why. Ice Show is on. Aqua Show is on but is only a partial show, no diving because two of the four required scuba safety divers are out sick. Comedy Club is on, and there have been different headliners.

Mama Mia is a really good show. I'd be disappointed to not see it.

I will ask around and see if anyone knows what is happening with the Mamma Mia show. They have Mama Mia in Concert, but not the show.

That’s what it’s showing for us next week. We sail the 8th. I’ll be bummed if they aren’t doing it, I’m guessing Covid quarantine for cast members 😞

Thanks for providing info about your trip, it definitely helps us be a bit more prepared!

how was St. Kitts? Where to next?
Did y’all go to Coco Cay in place of Nassau?

Where are you seeing what it is showing for us next week on Allure? The app is showing nothing for the theater.
