Bgcruising Posted January 6, 2022 #26 Share Posted January 6, 2022 Update: no replacements announced for us yet. Seems we have two more sea days and grand turk. The pool was busy today.

Despite that fine and being on probation they continued to falsify documentation and got caught again for illegal dumping and were fined an addition $20M in 2019. Makes you wonder what else they've been doing. Umm, no that was not Royal, this happened under Carnival. It was in Alaska and they were still awarded births to continue to sail there. Royal happened years before, and they were awarded births to go to Glacier Bay but declined them. Also, The CDC is aware of what Royal is doing as they have to report sick crew members as well as passengers to The CDC, just like Carnival has. Royal Captain tells the entire ship the count of positives onboard, unlike others. Edited January 6, 2022 by Plum Happy
Aplmac Posted January 6, 2022 #28 Share Posted January 6, 2022 Unfortunately, small island economies need that tourist dollar. Importation and management of Covid-19/20/21/22 is now just an operating expense! We get 100+ new cases every day now (since all the Xmas and New Year's parties) but that will soon simmer down! More and more of us are being vaccinated and boosted too! I've had all three...

Can't blame them, a covid outbreak on those small islands would be devastating for them at best. What makes it more devastating on smaller islands? The smaller crowds? The warm weather? The outdoor activity?

Glacier Bay is awarded based on bids, and Carnival brands have by far the most. Carnival Cruise Line has been shut out for the current contract. https://www.nps.gov/glba/learn/news/glacier-bay-issues-new-contracts-for-cruise-ship-services.htm
