HAL Friends, Sailing with a really big balcony (not an AFT) and have an opportunity to get the really big balcony on the other side of the ship.  Need some opinions,  which is better on the HAL inside passage sailings for sightseeing, Port or Starboard?   Or, if you have a side as preference for another reason, let me know why.

The side of the ship your stateroom is located makes no difference what so ever.  One is foolish to spend all of their time sitting on their veranda and not being elsewhere on the ship where one can get a much better overall view of the scenery.

Guess I’m foolish because I enjoy the tranquility of my privacy.

No, you are not foolish.  You are enjoying the reason you are cruising.  That is the most important reason why you are sailing on a Dam ship.

Speaking as someone who lives on Vancouver Island, but has also spent time mid-coast: if it is a return, it's no difference.  If it is one way, starboard going north, port going south.

Enjoy the inside passage!  I'll wave as you go by!  😁
