Rare KKB Posted January 22, 2022 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2022 Just got a tremendous price for flights & 11 day cruise on Princess in August. (Denmark, Norway, Germany, Estonia, Russia, Finland, Sweden) Figure this is the warmest time of the year. What are average temps? How many hours of light average>
CruiserBruce Posted January 22, 2022 #2 Share Posted January 22, 2022 Quick Google search answers all your questions. Just for example, on Aug 15, sunrise 5:33, sunset 9:14. July is the warmest...expect lower 70s. August is in the 60s.
Rare ontheweb Posted January 22, 2022 #3 Share Posted January 22, 2022 Weather is always somewhat unpredictable. When our cruise was in St. Petersburg (2007), I remember the temperature as being 88 degrees. Glad we took a tour with one of the private companies in an air conditioned Mercedes. One of the passengers I spoke with who took a ship's tour mentioned the air conditioning did not work.

CruiserBruce Posted January 29, 2022 #5 Share Posted January 29, 2022 St Petersburg is further from the ocean. Plus, what month in 2007?
tring Posted January 29, 2022 #6 Share Posted January 29, 2022 (edited) Can get quite warm in The Baltic. Norway and Spitsbergen can also get surprisingly warm if you are there in late June/July when the days are long, especially if you are in a sheltered area up a fjiord. We were in the jacuzzi when in Spitsbergen early July a number of years back and it was not out of bravado either - just good weather. Take a good jacket and gloves/hat though in case of colder weather, especially for sea days. Going to those areas in the winter is a totally different matter though 🙂 Edited January 29, 2022 by tring

Desdichado62 Posted January 30, 2022 #8 Share Posted January 30, 2022 August can be warm but could just as well be cold or anything in between. Hours of sunlight will vary a little depending on location . For Stockholm on 15 august sun will rise at 05.08 and set at 20.36. https://www.sunrise-and-sunset.com
