Bottled Water

I kind of like having the bottles of water already in my room and ready, so I tend to spend the $7. This works for me since I prefer to not have chilled water either.

I've also used the method of grabbing a bottle of water from a nearby bar any time I was walking back to my cabin, so I build up a collection.

I do the same.

By the way, I don't think they are bottles anymore.  I think they are in aluminum cans/bottles with a crew top lid.

Is this brand new?  On our two recent Majestic cruises they still had plastic water bottles.

I think I am getting my cruise lines mixed up.  I think it was on HAL that we had aluminum water "bottles".  I did think that princess had stopped the use of plastic bottles as well though.  I guess not.  I did not mind the aluminum bottles taste wise though.

To clarify, bottled waters one gets from a bar do not count toward the 15 drink a day limit

This is correct, the "small" bottles do not count.  The larger bottles are charged at a discount. The fountain drinks, coffees, virgin drinks, do not count.

Many thanks.  I thought I'd heard some say they were charged incorrectly then.  What you say is how I read the program details too.

So if I understand correctly if I ask for a bottle of water at a bar it is okay to take back to the stateroom at no charge? I did buy the 12 bottles over my 2 week holiday cruise and did not use them all. I like to use the bottled water for medications. Only going on next cruise for a week and know I won't use 12 bottles. Wish I could buy a few of the really big bottles

Thank you for all the answers

You can buy a few of the really big bottles if they have them while on board, they just won’t be covered under the package so you will get charged.

I just grab a bottle whenever I’m walking past a bar and heading back to my room.

We have always just brought a refillable water bottle and kept it filled from the tap in our room.  Just  an not see paying for something that is free through out the ship.  Never had a problem with it,  But each to their own.

It is fine to ask at a bar for a bottle of water and take it back to your room.  That's what I do.  You just can't order a drink and the water at the same time as you can only get one drink at a time when you have the beverage package.

We would stop at a bar at least twice a day for a bottle of water each.  Once after breakfast and before our 2 mile walk on the promenade and then at night on our way back to the cabin.  Never a problem.  The bartender just checked to confirm that we had the Plus package.

I’m surprised they wouldn’t give you as bottle of water along with your cocktail as I do that all the time on every sailing.  Most of the bartenders get to know that I always want water along side and just give me both after a few days.  A girl has to keep hydrated when consuming martinis!  LOL

They'll do a glass of water but I've never been able to get a bottle of water alongside a cocktail.  Maybe your bartender friends scan in one drink, give it a minute or two, then scan in the bottle of water?

We were able to do that as well at the bar we frequently visited. We were also able to get more than 1 bottle of water at a time. Of course that bartender saw my husband and I several times a day for water, soft drinks, and Dirty Bananas and she got to know us.

I had no problem getting a bottle of water and a can of beer (unopened) to take back to my room after leaving the casino on the Majestic. Nearly every night.

As far as I could tell, they were rung up together as one transaction.

Yes, no problem asking for a bottle of water to take back to your cabin. If you have the beverage package small bottles of water are included ( large bottles aren’t).  If you don’t have the beverage  package you will be charged.

You can also order up to four small bottles at a time from Room Service / Ocean Now for stateroom delivery, either paying as you go, or using the Plus benefits.

That’s a great change to the program!
