ncl allow smoking in casino?

i dont recall hearing if NCL allows smoking in the casino for upcoming cruises.  Anyone know? 

 

i saw an update on RCL going back to that being allowed yesterday.

I hope they don't.  if we have to go overboard pretending to protect people from certain "health hazards" then why not secondary smoke?

Just got off the Encore and Joy. Smoking was not allowed on either ship in casino.  Smoking section of casino had doors wide open. You could go in, but NO smoking.

We were on the Getaway transatlantic cruise in Dec.  Smoking was not allowed in the casino while in Europe.  But after we left Portugal, smoking was allowed, we didn't go back to the Asian restaurant after that, didn't want the smoke.

 

That is such a bad design to put a restaurant right by the casino.

I think the OP is wondering if NCL's new mask guidelines will affect the former indoor designated smoking areas.

You could always book on Bliss or Encore as they have smoking rooms in their casinos. So even if they allow smoking, on those ships it's contained to the smoking room.

 

I wish they would retrofit the other ships in the class with that.

NCL certainly prohibited smoking in the casinos during the pandemic once cruising recommenced last year.  I suspect the position on no smoking in the casinos will go away with the mask mandate...but I don't know that for a fact.

Not true.

 

NCL only restricted smoking recently when the masking rules were implemented

 

Now that masking rules have been removed as of 3/1/22, smoking will return to the casinos

Last week on the Breakaway I was only aware of 2-3 smoking areas:

- poolside smoking area

- cigar humidor area next to Maltings bar

- and we saw smoking in the H2O area next to the bar - not sure if it was designated/authorized or not

Do you have a statement from NCL verifying that or are you just guessing?

Several NCL ships we have cruised on, most notably the Breakaway, would be better off to not allow smoking in the casino until they can come up with a plan to redesign.   Smoking in the casino on Breakaway literally permeates all of decks 6,7, and 8.  

 

The Joy on the other hand has a separate smoking area within the casino that is contained within glass walls.  It allows those that wish to smoke to do so without stinking up the rest of the main eating and activity area of the ship.  

 

Now would be a great time for NCL to address the smoking issue and do so on a ship by ship basis.
