Casino offer - we've never gambled

Maybe this us a stupid question, but we've cruised a number of times and aren't gamblers. I received a casino offer with incredible prices but can't help but wonder if it's a mistake?  We first cruised on Carnival 10 years ago and have never received this type of offer before. I am thinking if we book we'll do it through our PVP just to make sure. Seems too good to be true??

A lot of people on here have reported they're seeing Casino offers on their accounts even if they don't gamble. I think they're just casting a broad net with the offers to fill the ships. Once they get you onboard, even if you still don't gamble hopefully you'll take those savings and buy souvenirs, excursions, etc.

Or at the minimum, keep the room occupied to allow for the opportunity of automatic gratuities to occur keeping employee morale a bit higher than the potential effects of a reduced income. Cruise ship staterooms are perishable and any revenue opportunity is critical even if it’s just enough to surpass the cost per occupied room during this time. Also, there’s the hope you’ll share pictures on social media and help with the general public’s perception of the industry.

Yep, Carnival has a $$$ per berth figure in mind it takes to run a profitable voyage, and they plan to meet or exceed that figure within the second half of this year, if not before.

I also got a casino offer without ever playing in the casino! I originally was able to put it online as a hold, while my husband figured out if he could go or not. It wasn't letting me add him, so I called the PVP who had helped us a couple of years ago. Turns out HE ALSO HAD AN OFFER. We ended up booking the four of us in two cabins, because it was cheaper than doing 3rd and 4th guests in one! So now my kids are right next door and we'll have two bathrooms. Great deal and so glad it worked out!

That's something I like to mention to a cruising couple. Both of y'all always check your offers before you book. Sometimes my wife has a better offer, sometimes I do, even though we always cruise together and our onboard spend is comparable.

I got a great players club offer for an Alaskan cruise last week. It was half the price with $200 obc for my family of four. I booked immediately and I don't gamble nor am I a member of any casino players club.

And most of these offers include free drinks while playing in the casino, so I think that in addition, maybe they are hoping to entice some people into the casino too.

are these offers emailed to you or are they in with your VIFP offers.

 

Needless to say my wife and i never get any kind of good offers. As I said before we do get RU9 which is a ripoff. lol

We aren't sure if it was our spontaneous gambling on our cruise in Jan. that garnered us our casino offers, but my DH and I each got an offer O1M.  Free interior room, up to $100 and $100 OBC/each. We ended upgrading to a 4K (obstructed view interior).  Room was $190/each.  I picked a room between boats on the Spirit for an 8-day Alaska cruise; the offer didn't extend to balconies as those prices stayed regular.  We could've just taken an interior and pretty much only pay taxes, etc. but we opted the 4K.  Nevertheless,  for less than $1K for 2 people on a 8-day cruise is unbelievable.  This will allow us to spend more on the cruise, so the thought will work for Carnival from us.

We never get them either, but a friend who only started cruising on Carnival in 2019 gets them all the time and has now been on several free cruises with OBC and other inducements in the last 6 months.

Our daughter who has only sailed on Carnival twice in 20 years gets offers of free cruises!

 

Accordingly, we have decided to avoid Carnival for a while and will go on other lines for similar prices. Maybe that might generate some better offers.

That's the cruise we took the offer on too. 4 people in an extended balcony for $2700. Could have went inside like you as well but the Players Club deal was really good knocking half off the normal VIFP booking price. We don't even gamble .....

That is an amazing price for 4 people.  My husband and I could never imagine going on a cruise to Alaska of this length, for such a bargain!  It allows us to spend more on our excursions, upgraded dining, spa treatments, and perhaps actually gamble.  I'm purchasing gift cards through AARP to add more to the savings, since we know we will use them up.
