I thought the (pre covid)  reserved seating was for Pinnacle and suites, not D+.

If you are sailing a ship that requires reservation, at this point as D+,  you well need a reservation .  With a reservation  D+ are  permitted in the venue 45 minutes   early to select a seat of choice.    For ships with no reservation requirement, d+  are  allowed in 45 minutes prior as well.

Protocols are constantly changing, some reverting to pre covid procedures and some completely different.  Time will tell.

Reserved seating section included D+ in the main theater, studio B (Ice show), and Aqua theater pre-pandemic.  Did it many times.  With the initial return to sailing, the reserved section on our October and December cruises was not as before with social distancing, etc., required in those venues.  Curious to see if that reverts back to the way it was as some point.

For OP, none of the show reservations are for specific seats or areas.  And currently you can only book show reservations while onboard (use app or kiosk in Promenade).  Nothing in advance of sailing.  Sometimes you can connect to the ship wifi while in the terminal but with current boarding time reservations you are not in the terminal very long.  Most folks with show reservations are allowed into the venue at 30 minutes, D+ and above at 45 minutes.  Shows open for non-reservations around 15 minutes before show time.
