Goooood morning, Dexdd - we must be lucky as are our fellow CC'ers onboard this week. I trust things are going well with you & kids, etc. Still doing the T/A on the Prima this Fall ? Currently enjoying Florida sunshine at a nice 77 degree F, should reach PC on time & going to see the Escape ... We had Royal's AOS and a Carnival ship sailing within visuals for much of yesterday, weather & seas are just ideal. Later, time for a late breakfast somewhere on the ship. Rare mking8288 Posted March 29, 2022 Author #53 Share Posted March 29, 2022 Views out our Deck 11 balcony and around Deck 8. Where's everyone, it's mid morning?
Rare mking8288 Posted March 29, 2022 Author #54 Share Posted March 29, 2022 O'Sheehan's is pretty quiet for breakfast, staff to passenger ratio is 2 to 1.
Rare EllieinNJ Posted March 29, 2022 #55 Share Posted March 29, 2022 Congrats on that great slot win. I've been in so many slot pulls and the most anyone pulled was about $100. The crowd must have gone crazy.
Rare mking8288 Posted March 29, 2022 Author #56 Share Posted March 29, 2022 (edited) It's almost 12:50 local time, sailing along the channel into port, slightly late & probably won't get into solid ground till 1:30 pm after port officials clear the ship. Not much time for a half day at the theme park. Edited March 29, 2022 by mking8288
Rare mking8288 Posted March 29, 2022 Author #57 Share Posted March 29, 2022 (edited) Almost ready to dock, half of the GA will not be next to the terminal. @1:20 pm, engines stopped & at the pier. A very short walk to ground transportation, once clear to go ashore ... soon. Edited March 29, 2022 by mking8288

Rare steveknj Posted March 29, 2022 #59 Share Posted March 29, 2022 Thanks for sharing. Always great to share experiences. We were on this ship for the 2nd sailing out of NYC late Feb, early Mar. The ship was probably half full if that and they had all three MDR open when we were there. None were ever more than 1/3 full when we ate (granted we ate around 5:30 or so). Probably a smart thing to close one of them and save staff. Good to know about the HDMI port on the TV. I didn't take advantage of that but we'll be on the Breakaway in August and we'll bring one of our laptops so we can watch our own content.
Rare mking8288 Posted March 29, 2022 Author #60 Share Posted March 29, 2022 Simon, the CD, announced at 2 pm that ship has been cleared & guests can proceed to the gangways. 2:15 pm - the bigger buses began leaving with guests, there are lines for the smaller shuttles, probably including the ones for Coca Beach. 18 wheelers lined up to make deliveries to the ship, including 2 tankers w stainless steel round containers.
ilovecrusin422 Posted March 29, 2022 #61 Share Posted March 29, 2022 We are on this beautiful ship when you get back on April 3rd. Great win, love your posts and enjoy the rest of your cruise. Thank you.
Rare mking8288 Posted March 30, 2022 Author #62 Share Posted March 30, 2022 (edited) Follow along for a near virtual cruise and we hope to bring you a smile or two, our secret is to go with the flow. Nothing is perfect, we had a little flooding incident in our cabin on embarkation day, maintenance responded & got it fixed, guest services followed up the next day to see that all is well. Our room steward, Rodrigo, cleaned & moop it up. The entire crew & officers are just wonderful & great 👍 happy to welcome all the guests back & onboard. Our Cagney's dinner - complimentary, 1 starter, 1 soup or salad, entree, 2 sides and dessert, plus coffee was very, very good - 8 oz. filet mignon cooked medium was soft & tender. That's living it up & feeling blessed. The latest complimentary wine list for Platinum members to choose from. Overlooking the Tropicana MDR below. Rare mking8288 Posted March 30, 2022 Author #63 Share Posted March 30, 2022 Here was our mini kiddie pool in the bathroom, minus the swimming goldfish, 😆 LOL. Result of a backflow from the floor drain. Thus, collected more calling cards w names & their direct extensions on the Getaway.
Rare mking8288 Posted March 30, 2022 Author #64 Share Posted March 30, 2022 All abroad is 8:30 pm, almost time as we are scheduled to sail to GSC at 9 pm. Must had 8 to 10 trailers worth of provisions delivered here to the GA at the port today. It's done, waiting to see if names of Pier runners might get called over the PA.

Rare mking8288 Posted March 30, 2022 Author #66 Share Posted March 30, 2022 (edited) Less than 10 minutes & I think we aren't leaving anyone behind. GSC seemed to be on, but it's supposed to be windy, direction from the east & okay to tender. We'll know in the morning, 10 am arrival. Laundry special is tomorrow, $29 per bag. Freestyle Dailies for Day 4 - full set. And, we are leaving 5 minutes early, backing up in the basins to turn & head out to sea again, bye-bye PC. See ya next time. @meatball_nyc - hi, thanks & mucho best wishes 😊 Edited March 30, 2022 by mking8288

nycrewz Posted March 30, 2022 #68 Share Posted March 30, 2022 wow, NCL really should comp your internet time because this thread is sure making me want to book a cruise soon...... just curious if you could get a shot of a bar menu (ideally, O'Sheehan's with draught beer choices) as I am trying to decide whether or not I should go for the "free" beverage package or just pay for my drinks as I go ( I think the break even point is 2 drinks in a day which makes the free a pretty clear choice).
Rare mking8288 Posted March 30, 2022 Author #69 Share Posted March 30, 2022 (edited) Good morning - 80 deg & sunny, very calm seas at 5 ft. Almost there, should find out if we can tender to GSC soon. Strong gale force wind from the east ... 10 am arrival 🤔 using Deck 6 via Deck 7 Fwd to tender. Guests asked to bring beach towels, photo ID & wear a mask while on the island. Sounds like we are going, based on Simon, CD's announcement just now. First, late breakfast is next & then ... Isn't this beautiful & peaceful 😎 Edited March 30, 2022 by mking8288

When i was on the Getaway back in February, they had everyone line up on deck 6/7 forward and then made everyone walk down the stairs to deck 3 to board the tenders. They are suppose to be crew member next to an elevator to help people with special needs with an elevator but i never had any luck with that.

Things are well here. Yes, still have Prima booked for TA and very excited. We disembark in your city so we'll be looking for your Rolls to take us to the airport. Please take over a band aid to fix the Escape. It was our last NCL trip and it was a great time and a great ship. We'll look for you on PC Webcam but they don't always pan it.

You would need to go up on deck to do so. I've sailed the Breakaway twice out of NY with the same ports.
