Summer solstice

Hi

We have a June cruise on Sky Princess which will have us at sea on the summer solstice June 21. It's the Norwegian Fjords cruise so the sun will barely set, if at all. 

 

Anyone know if Princess do anything to celebrate the solstice?

I was on a Norwegian fjord cruise a few yeas ago. We were above the Artic Circle where the sun never set. There was no special celebration on the 21st. Might have been T shirts for sale.

It was one of our most memorable cruises. Spectacular scenery.

Think we maybe got a certificate for crossing the Artic Circle.

I really feel like they could come up with a whole roast animal for the neopagans on board.  This little piggy went to the World Fresh Marketplace on a recent sailing.

I am not vegetarian or vegan, but I will freely admit that would make me lose my appetite very quickly.

I know he is, that is part of what makes it a nightmare for me.  Pigs are very sweet little animals.  Im just being honest, I eat pork at home, but its pork I have not met in person.

I have read that on previous Princess sailings there was a deck party at midnight.  Cruise was named Land of the Midnight Sun, same as this one.  We are are this cruise too so we will see.

On ours several years ago there was a midnight deck party in the full light of day - we had a great time.  Best deck party ever!

On my Land of the Midnight Sun cruise in June 2019 there was a Midnight Sun party on the summer solstice with live music, food and hot drinks being served. It was a great deck party with a surprisingly large number of passengers joining in the fun.

Well, given that we are in a S*** cabin behind the glass corridor to the side of this pool, and below the people on the balcony looks like we'll be part of this party whether we want to be or not
