As a travel agent what do you think is a good cruise line for the mainstream?

I will leave this for the travel agent to answer since I am not one…

my personal view is that the three main stream players all have strength and weakness…my personal preference is Royal Caribbean because it is more well rounded and you can find value with what they offer.  Is it the best … nope … are there issues ? Yeap … but it’s the one I can cruise with and have a relaxing time but my expectations are set accordingly to ensure a smooth vacation experience.  When I board NCL next month I won’t go in expecting them to be like Royal because they are not… I expect them to nickel and dime me every chance they get but that’s how they build their marketing strategy and if you chose to cruise with them you have to be prepared!

Day 2

It was so windy and cold earlier today after I got out of the hot tub I had to wrap myself around the pool towel to go back to the room… you know I had an issue with pool towel charges on this same ship … so it was definitely cold enough for me to take the towels with me instead of dropping it off immediately! 😂

Day 2

Even though I had the do not disturb magnet out … yea I checked … someone still knocked on the door while I just got into the shower… I guess they really wanted me to have my afternoon delight 😆

After this cruise we will be “half a Pinnacle “😂😂

You are like me.  When you cruise on other lines you would have to start cruising real young and live quite old.  I have status on Princess,  Carnival and I even took 3 cruises on NCL ( my least favorite)

Thanks for the info.  With that low number of Pinns - if stays similar - we may have luck with CK.  I am asking because I found the head waiter scheduling last time on Oasis seemed to be less inclined to make reservations for me - one of a low number of Pinns onboard.  Totally different experience on Anthem where head waiter was exceptional.  Thank you for posting.  Katherine

I book a grand suite to make sure I get coastal kitchen

Cruise planner … others have reported that it’s $199.99 on sea day $149.99 on port day during the sale… keep in mind the 4 facing the ocean is by windjammer so you will have traffic !

Day 2

For those that asked about buying internet package onboard … since 2/22 the price has been 10% off on cruise planner for surf and stream… so I waited to be onboard to buy my internet …

Day 1 I activated my surf Diamond coupon … I had no issues posting and I don’t need stream this trip.  I did use FB Messenger and it was not as smooth as stream BUT it’s personal so I really did not care.  If you use the Diamond coupon for stream $7.00 upcharge to your sea pass card!

Day 2 I purchased the Surf package prorated to 6 days and then went to the voom desk and ask them to apply my PRIME discount.  So it cost me about $93.00 for a week of surf Wi-Fi …. So if the cruise planner price drops below $90.00 then I will buy before I get on the ship… otherwise I will buy when I am onboard.  I hope this clears up the Diamond day/prime discount question.

For those that have gotten off the ship around Port Canaveral on your own, anything interesting around that you would suggest to walk to?  I have been there many times to board the ship but never walked around the port area.

Was there in Oct. A couple of fish restaurants, and a fish market.  Nowhere else to go/see without a cab. Stay on board.

Thank you so much for this valuable information… Waldo will be the Oasis!  I have no desire to go to coco beach or space center …

It’s the second level at Casino Royale (Royal’s casino program)
