We will be on the ship in August.  But first the Adventure end of this month.  Looks like the ship is getting crowded.  At the buffet, is the food all served by the staff or self serve?  On a recent Celebrity cruise- no dirty hands/fingers allowed.  That was great.

How is the suite lounge and restaurant on the ship?

Suite Lounge food was self serve. At 5:10 last night there were maybe 3-4 seats available but not together. We are doing Coastal Kitchen the rest of the week for dinner so I’ll let you know.

Going to be on the Oasis for 12 days next month.  Had heard the 25.00 per day rate may be increasing to 30.00 per day.  Even at 25, that's 300.00.  Found a third party website offering parking at a hotel near EWR for 5 a day plus tax and fee, coming in under 70.00.  Add RT Lyft XL and it's still under 150 total, saving at least 150, 210 if the increase to 30 goes through.

Great move and great tip!!!  I would highly recommend investigating the option of off site parking either at the lots near Newark airport, even Newark airport itself, parking lots in Jersey City and the use Uber / Lyft to the port.  You just have to be mindful of the number of luggage and how much convenience is worth to you!

I’m sad that I won’t get to see Aqua 80 next week but I’m not going to let it dampen my excitement.

I hope there are only 4000 people next week too! It would be nice not to have to make reservations for shows.

Is there a fee for laser tag?

Please don’t because there are soooo many other things that will make you happy onboard!

There is no fee for laser tag!

Cats is still on … Now and Forever on the Oasis 😆

He never took pictures of his pre-dinner snack from the buffet.  He is a true machine though.  Nothing will top his seafood extravaganza on night one on the Celebrity Edge.

I totally forgot … it was pretty busy last night being so early on… and they were only using half the buffet.  Still manageable and the quality is there!

If there is Hooked on this ship I would absolutely buy the UDP… being they don’t have Hooked and Wonderland and I have done the specialty restaurants before on the Oasis and wasn’t impressed so I am sticking with the complimentary options when I am on the Oasis unless the price of UDP comes back to earth range 😂

Thanks for the live review.  We board her in 34 days for the Halifax and Saint John cruise. Can't wait!

Have a great cruise!  That sounds like a great itinerary!  I think it’s time I book a cruise to go up North for Lobster 🦞 😆

Some random observations after Day 1:

Boarding was a zoo but I write that off to the fact that the ship has to leave and come back.

Feels like more than 4000. Maybe a day 1 thing.

Show schedule is disappointing. Last time I will mention it, I promise 😜.

Whiskey/Bourbon selection very poor (pour) so far. In Suite Lounge, Trellis Bar and casino Bar nothing but Gentleman Jack and Jameson available. Didn’t expect Macallan but…..  maybe Makers? Bulleit? Buffalo Trace?  More investigation is necessary.

Giovannis was excellent as always. I think it’s our favorite specialty restaurant. Not very many people last night.

We have done the Retreat on Celebrity Edge/Apex several times since the restart and later in the week I’ll do a comparison vs Royal Sky Class.

Thank you so much for sharing your observations… I really appreciate it because it gives another point of view.  I can’t wait to read about the comparison with Celebrity!  After getting off the Edge last month I felt that Celebrity was moving downward a bit to give it a more Royal Oasis class ship experience and I wasn’t thrilled with that… hopefully that was just a one off!

Giovanni’s is fantastic… Jean the manager upfront is fantastic!

The selection for wine is not much better even when I am willing to pay the difference the selection is still bare!

Casita Update …

There are no casitas that opens to the ocean.  To see the ocean you have to look through the back wall/fence!  It’s true on both sides!

Do you know how much they charge to rent?

Day 2 Room Service

The supply chain issue struck again… I was not able to get plain yogurt, and I think they are rationing off cream cheese?  Good thing I ordered extra 😂 and an outer space croissant!  I really really need to practice writing 2 and 4 because I am getting 4

Maybe it depends on your attendant but Day 2 was on our bed last night. I can post it later today.

Me, too!

I asked a question yesterday that seems to have disappeared.  I wanted to know if  you could get a table for two in Coastal Kitchen that was not right on top of the neighboring table.  I was looking at YouTubes and it seemed they were very close together (although the videos were mostly pre-pandemic).

It seems as though  the suite lounge is so crowded, so early that dh and I cant even get a seat together.

Yes you can. I’ll take some pictures today when CK is empty so you can see.
