NCL-Cozumel Port Question

Has anyone whose been to Cozumel Cruise port recently , say in the last 2 months can tell me if your ship was docked or tendered.  This would be for NCL cruises.  It would be for a breakaway/large ship. Not a small size ship.

Was there in February on Escape.  We docked.

Joy in March, docked.  We docked downtown (and the only ship at the pier), the other lines in port at the time (RCL and Carnival) docked at the other port, away from town.

I think the only time NCL would tender is if there a 3rd NCL ships in port that day.  I believe they are the only line that uses the downtown pier and it hold 2 ships.

Not true. MSC and Cunard use downtown dock. Basically anyone other than Royal, Celebrity and Carnival. They have their own dock further away from town.

Your cruise documents should tell you if you have to tender. I don't think that NCL has enough ships operating to Cozumel to force one to dock. NCL uses Punta Longosta (versus Royal and Carnival who is way down at the International Pier).

But I will note I think the itinerary said tender even though we docked!!!

Docked in February on the Pearl. Regent was closest to us, and there were a ton of RCC and Carnival ships to our right further down.

Apparently Disney also uses this pier (Google Earth imagery shows a Disney ship tied up at Punta Langosta).
