At 3:30 we made our way over to Fishlips for an early dinner. As I mentioned earlier, the Hampton Inn is very close to the Port Entrance…..

Most people, including us, love to eat upstairs and enjoy the views of the harbor. Here’s a view of the Freedom and Elation……

Well, I finally made it to the party!  Really looking forward to your review, and  Patty's pictures that are always outstanding.

While we were having our first drinks, the Freedom set sail on a four day cruise to the Bahamas. We didn’t realize that we would be seeing the Freedom so much during the next week or so. We will be sailing on the Freedom in January…..

Our food has arrived. Patti had the cheese plate and a Caesar salad…..

 

 

 

I had the conch fritters and a fried seafood platter…..

 

 

 

While we were enjoying our dinner, the Elation sailed from Port Canaveral. She is sailing empty as she is repositioning to Jacksonville. We enjoyed our cruises on her…..

After dinner we decided to check out the terminal where the Mardi Gras would be docking on Saturday. As we left Fishlips we passed the Observation Tower….

 

 

Here is Terminal 3 where the Mardi Gras docks every week…..

 

 

 

 

We then decided to take a ride into Cocoa Beach as far as the Ron Jon Surf Shop…..

 

 

 

We made our way back to the Hampton Inn and decided to have a few drinks at the Mission Control Pool Bar…..

 

 

 

 

 

 

A Port Canaveral sunset…..

 

 

Afterwards, we picked up some snacks at the little store and went back to the room for the night.

We usually enjoy the Homewood Suites in the same location as the Hampton. Hampton being newer. Next time you're down there check out Rusty's, mac -n- cheese bites.  Also, a little hidden delight,

(Florida Seafood) restaurant that never disappoints. Also, if you're in the mood for BBQ . Slow-N-Low 😉

We really liked the Hampton Inn and will go back there if the price is right. We've eaten at Rusty's and enjoyed the food there as well.

Pre-Cruise  (April 22nd)  -  Cocoa and Cocoa Village. 

 

We were up at 7am to another beautiful day, sunny and 77 degrees. We went downstairs to enjoy the included breakfast and it was excellent, including omelets and breakfast sandwiches…..

The Liberty, Independence of the Seas, and the Disney Dream are all in port today…..

 

 

 

 

Around 10am we head out to Cocoa and Cocoa Village. It’s only about a fifteen minute ride from here…..

 

 

 

 

Once here, Patti will walk around browsing the shops and taking pictures. I will make my way to my usual Husband Daycare here, Ryan’s Pizza and Pub. Patti’s giving us a tour of Cocoa Village…..

I had a Stromboli which was huge, and Patti had a chicken tender basket. Afterwards, we took a drive across the causeway into Cocoa Beach. We thought we might stop at the Cocoa Beach Pier, but we changed our minds and headed back to the Hampton Inn. After a couple of drinks at the Pool Bar, we made or way back to the room to relax and prepare for tomorrow.

 

Coming up next: We finally board the Mardi Gras!!!
