I am sailing on the Horizon in 5 weeks, and our facebook group is posting things about AC issues in the main areas of the ship.  Are you seeing anything like this?

No,  we felt comfortable at all times. You should be good to go

Day 6 Sea Day

As per usual, we spent the day lounging in Havana area. Went up to guys for a burger and the wife got a lobster roll which she thoroughly enjoyed.

After staying on deck all day and enjoying some Bahama Mamas, we cleaned up and ate in the MDR. Dinner was really good and service was awesome! I-Putu was very engaging and attentive.
We went to the production show I believe it was call spellbound, which the whole family enjoyed it.
As usual, the last night of the ship and it was alive with action for pretty much the only time.

We were on the 5/14 and the 5/22 sailings, and were hot in a lot of spaces. Mainly deck 5. (Ocean Plaza, outer edges of Pig and Anchor, Alchemy) and the atrium.

We had a great time, though!

I'm booked for the  6/5 sailing.  What time did the ship get back to Miami?

It was prior to my 7:15am wake up alarm. Other than that Im not sure. Debark was fast and easy. We had Zone 2, and didnt leave until all zones were called. We had a 12:30 ish flight home.  Id prefer to sit on Lido longer than sit in the airport

Mike, last time I was on the Horizon, they offered a specialty restaurant dinner voucher for like $69 that could be used throughout the ship at any of the paid restaurant offerings. Is that still offered?  Thanks ...

I didn’t see that , but have before. This trip there were no special offerings perhaps because cucina is closed for dinner for a short while

I just got off the Horizon this morning. I am quite certain I gained no weight on this ship despite eating like a pig because I'm certain I  sweat it all off.

I have never, ever been so hot on a ship. Every area was miserable. The casino was the worst and was positively miserable(specifically the tables along the back wall). Alchemy was also ridiculously hot(and considering it's out in the open, this doesn't really make sense). I found myself spending more time in my room that I would normally because, thank you Jesus, the cabin was cool.

I spoke to guest services and got nothing but multiple possible reasons and certainly no genuine concern.

I talked to a lot of people on the ship and there was definitely a consensus that everyone was overwhelmed by the heat.

Not trying to hijack the OP thread but this ship is hot! I just got off the 8 day to the ABC islands today. The rooms are a bit cooler but the rest of the ship is in need of a total AC overhaul!

I couldn’t believe a ship four years old could be like this.

We still had a good time but was surprised on how hot the common areas were.

I don't recall any issue with the air on our Horizon cruise last July. I do like that on this class of ship and new is that individual cabins have their own air conditioner. The thermostats should have a "turbo" button - forget what they call it, but if you press it, it should kick in overdrive. It will only stay in that mode for a few minutes, but you can keep pressing it until your room cools off.

We cruise in July and it will be hot in the Caribbean, I hope there's no A/C issues, that would really suck.  I was on Horizon for a 2 day cruise when she first arrived to Miami, it was an ice bucket.  Not sure if what people are complaining about now has to do with COVID.  Meaning, they are pumping in more outside air and as a result, common areas will easily heat up.  Was it any better a night?

No, at night it is awful. That is when I was in the Alchemy and the casino and you sweat buckets. Everyone was complaining. I would have to be offered a serious deal to consider sailing this ship again until I know this issue has been resolved. I spent the week very uncomfortable and that just shouldn't be the case. I shouldn't be in my nice clothes trying to enjoy a meal in the MDR and have my face beet red and my back dripping with sweat.

Now you are making me nervous about my sailing coming up.  Of course we are too late to switch ships.  I have multiple cruises scheduled this year and I wouldn't suffer for one less, but I am not going to lose the money.  Sailing with a 1 year old for the first time, dinner will be challenging enough, but he will be cranky if its sweltering.  Of course I live in FL, so my heat tolerance is better than most.

It didn't "ruin" our cruise. And honestly it wasn't everywhere. And we're not talking like "outside" hot. Just def warmer than it should be. My guestimate would be it was probably high 70s in the warm areas.

OK high 70s is not hot to me... our normal temps are in the 74-76 range in our house.. so it sounds like it wont be an issue for us Floridians.  Thanks for clarifying!

I'm a native Floridian, so I can deal with the heat. But, I don't expect to miserable indoors for the entire cruise. Most nights, the dining room wasn't sweltering, but it was noticeable warm. Other parts of the ship were awful.
