NCL Bermuda ferry?

Does anyone know what NCL uses the ferry boat for in Bermuda? Saw it docked last time in Bermuda on a different cruise line. Going on the Joy this summer to Bermuda so I'm curious what its for.

The NCL ferry is used for transportation between the Royal Naval Dockyard and St. George. The thread referenced by @ColeThornton is about ferry transportation between Dockyard and Hamilton, which is a public ferry, not NCL's ferry.

   The ferry is used to shuttle NCL passengers  to St.George and back. There is no charge. As I recall, it makes three round trips. Then the last (fourth) trip of the day it runs empty from the Dockyard and picks up anyone still in St. Georges, returning to the ship.

    If there happens to be two NCL ships docked at the same time, access to the ferry will be for one day only. For instance, was on the Pearl in April and docked from Sunday-Tuesday. The Gem docked on Tuesday. We had use of the ferry on Monday, and the Gem folks had it on Tuesday. (It didn't run on Sunday.)

You can't miss it ... its this big groovy pink thing that parks right across the pier from your ship!

     That only works if you're docked at Heritage Wharf. If you're at King's Wharf, it's down the street a bit!!

I saw the ferry schedule with cost (I think it was $5 per person each way?) - is that the same as the "NCL ferry" referenced here? If not, is the "NCL ferry" free?

NCL's ferry is free, runs on the days when one of NCLH ship in the fleet is at Dockyard, directly across from Heritage's Wharf (and, yes - a longer walk if it's at King's Wharf)  Ferry is free and available to NCL passengers - you need to show your Guest Key Card to board, schedule is published, subject to change without advance notice, based on "your" ship's schedule in Bermuda - conditions permitting.  If sea state and wave height are above safety requirements, the ferry will be run or be operating ... as it can be a very choppy 45 minutes ride to/from SG in wide open but shallow waters.  

 

Just to be clear, do NOT confuse the NCL ferry on a limited schedule, exclusively for NCL passengers when the ship is docked there (Pearl, Joy, etc.) seasonally.  The public ferry service to Hamilton is not free and operated by Bermuda on a published, regular summer/winter schedule.  

 

P.S.  Yes - there is priority boarding for accessible ship passengers for "assisted" safe boarding the NCL "tender" ferry services.

Just in Bermuda on rcl adventure. On busy Saturday no ferry! Our ship was 2,400 passengers multiple times $40 each for Bermuda Covid-19 application and they got $96,000.00 from one ship. Not to mention nightmare getting through the Bermuda application. Some don’t make it on ship still waiting for test results in timely fashion!

     You should have had a public ferry  on Saturday to Hamilton ( reduced runs on weekends). No public ferry to St. George on the weekends, only operates M-F.

  The NCL ferry is for NCL ships only.

And i'll give you a tip --- when you get on, go to the upper level ... much more comfortable wider seats than the downstairs cabin.   Downstairs was cramped - with coach type airplane seats .. the upper deck had wider nicer ones.   At least back in 2020 when we were on it!
