Can’t Get Ahold of PVP, May Loose Room

Recommended Posts

Curious as to what my options are. We are booked on a cruise sailing in less than a week. There’s a room that opened up that I want to switch to, but I can’t get ahold of my PVP. Is there anything else I can do to be sure I don’t loose the chance to get the room?

You could try putting it on a courtesy hold on the website.  They give you 96-ish hours normally to book it or lose it.

That’s worth a try, but I don’t think Carnival allows courtesy holds on cruises sailing in less than a week.

At best, they might allow 24 hours this close to sailing. But you can keep canceling and putting another hod on the cabin when it adds back to inventory.

You don't have to use a PVP just because you have one, you can always call the 1-800 number. Or the casino number if you are a casino guest.

The O.P.  stating that the cruise is booked-just wanting to change cabins, if I read it  correctly. A call  to any CCL  rep, should be able to help.

I know what the OP said.  I was suggesting a hold on the new room to keep it from getting booked by someone else until she can get a hold of someone to make the switch for her.

It's important to realize that PVPs are not like TAs - they do not take "ownership" of your booking - any Carnival PVP or even the folks who answer the general 1-800 line can help you with a booking made by a PVP.

Just an update: by the time my PVP called back I had decided that I didn’t want to spend the $1,500+ to switch to the suite. Well, as faith would have it I received an upsell call today for that very suite for only $700. So I saved $800 due to my PVP not being available that day. Worked out for me. 😁

I'm so glad that worked out!
