Cruising_Addict Posted June 16, 2022 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2022 Curious as to what my options are. We are booked on a cruise sailing in less than a week. There’s a room that opened up that I want to switch to, but I can’t get ahold of my PVP. Is there anything else I can do to be sure I don’t loose the chance to get the room? nwcruiselover Posted June 16, 2022 #2 Share Posted June 16, 2022 Have you tried emailing, texting and calling your PVP? Is so and no contact has been made, I would suggest calling Carnival’s main number, 1-800-764-7419 and waiting on hold to speak with a representative. Good luck!

You could try putting it on a courtesy hold on the website. They give you 96-ish hours normally to book it or lose it.

But you can keep canceling and putting another hod on the cabin when it adds back to inventory.

You don't have to use a PVP just because you have one, you can always call the 1-800 number. Or the casino number if you are a casino guest. A call to any CCL rep, should be able to help.

I was suggesting a hold on the new room to keep it from getting booked by someone else until she can get a hold of someone to make the switch for her. Rare Saint Greg Posted June 17, 2022 #10 Share Posted June 17, 2022 I would call carnival and have someone else do it. Surely you aren’t limited to a particular PVP.
urbanhawk Posted June 17, 2022 #11 Share Posted June 17, 2022 Now I understand what you were saying, ultrafighter-that is a good idea. (Sorry-I think my brain is fried, as it was our 1st 111 degree day today.)
mz-s Posted June 17, 2022 #12 Share Posted June 17, 2022 It's important to realize that PVPs are not like TAs - they do not take "ownership" of your booking - any Carnival PVP or even the folks who answer the general 1-800 line can help you with a booking made by a PVP.
Cruising_Addict Posted June 22, 2022 Author #13 Share Posted June 22, 2022 Just an update: by the time my PVP called back I had decided that I didn’t want to spend the $1,500+ to switch to the suite. Well, as faith would have it I received an upsell call today for that very suite for only $700. So I saved $800 due to my PVP not being available that day. Worked out for me. 😁 12
