SiliconCruiser Posted July 6, 2022 #3 Share Posted July 6, 2022 Um, why are people being quarantined on the Ruby? As I understand it, they only require a pre-test (PCR or Antigen) before boarding. I have friends that are on the current trip and they have not experienced any testing other than their pre-cruise test. What am I missing here? Belle Posted July 6, 2022 #4 Share Posted July 6, 2022 If people feel sick and go to medical and are tested there, if positive then they are put in quarantine.

Technically, they are in isolation, not quarantine. Per the CDC: Isolation separates sick people with a contagious disease from people who are not sick. Quarantine separates and restricts the movement of people who were exposed to a contagious disease to see if they become sick. If one person (known to be sick) is in "isolation" should not Everyone they came in contact with at the buffet, MDR, shows, getting on/off the ship in port, pass in the hallway etc... be in quarantine. I'm unclear where you are going with this... Are you suggesting that every soul onboard needs to be put under quarantine? CDC only suggests an exposure occurs when one is within 6 feet of contagious persons for 15 minutes in total during a 24-hour period. Passing someone in the passageway isn't an exposure to a contagious disease. What do we do with all these people under quarantine on disembarkation day? Tonsoffun44 Posted July 6, 2022 #9 Share Posted July 6, 2022 Meant - Hallway waiting to get on/off at a port especially tender ports/embarkation terminals - we have and it's been longer than 15min around people. No not "every soul" just anyone that they came in contact within 6ft for 15min or longer. If we're to continue going with what the CDC says. With the medallions tracking location onboard it would be easy. At disembarkation nothing changes from what they currently do other than it's more people. SiliconCruiser Posted July 8, 2022 #10 Share Posted July 8, 2022 As I understand it, most people are unmasked even when they are crowded together like sardines (like in an elevator.) When a Ruby cruise could go on a Hawaiian cruise with 100% of the crew, and 100% of the passengers vaccinated, and still come back with 143 positive Covid cases. I'm not surprised. You're operating under the assumption that Princess WANTS to find positive cases. That assumption may be erroneous,

STOP going to ports/countries requiring testing after original pre-embarkation test.
