I wish… we are both PCR positive. Mind you I worked thru  the pandemic, have traveled all over, flown a few times, Disney twice, and we are VERY mindful of hygiene on board…pack your home tests! We are missing chic night dinner. Good thing we have books to read…

Sorry to hear about your positive test.  Are you able to stay in your cabin?

Staff seemed shorter during dinner. They have not announced anything new.

We were invited to the helipad for send off.

Had a good time at Horseshoe Bay. Took a taxi, 5 people was 42.00. Stayed about 3 hours. The rental of 2 chairs and and umbrella was 45.00. Took the 7.00 shuttle back.

I am so sorry to hear this!  We have managed to dodge it thus far, and like you, have traveled much, and been out and about.  I will be shocked if we don't contract it after or during this cruise.  I hope and pray it is mild for you guys.  At least you are a drive away from home.  Take care.

Sorry to hear this news.  I hope you and your DW have mild symptoms and you recover quickly.

With the crew now having to wear masks and your positive PCR test, are you hearing if there is a mini-outbreak on the ship or just a precaution?

Recap:

A clothes line in the bathroom on deck 8 concierge class.  Bring clips as it’s not the strongest for shirts and shorts.

I used heavy duty magnets to hang damp (not wet) swimsuits on the wall to finish drying. Worked well.

appetizers delivered to the room were gross. In looks and taste.

Get to the Martini bar early for a seat.

Go to Horseshoe Bay on the last day. We heard the ships pool was crowded, Carnival had left, and NCL was leaving before us. At 9am we took a taxi for 5 people it was 42.00. The driver gave a great tour with the drive. We were able to get umbrella and chairs 45.00 and had a pick of where we wanted to be set up. The beach was not crowded at all. At 12:30 we took the 7.00 per person shuttle that filled up quickly. We were back on the ship 1:00ish. I think most people stay around the ship since we have to be back by 330 and NCL by 2.

Go to St. George’s by ferry. Bring a swimsuit as there are a lot of little coves. You can get to St Catherine’s beach for 3.00 per person. Not a big beach and no facilities but it was clean and empty. A large hotel is part of the beach but their part is private and busier.

Food on the ship was okay. You won’t go hungry.

Bring a couple of protein bars when you go into Bermuda. You will walk a lot and I had wished I had one on me.

One thing that I didn’t like was the stores had more activities than the ship at times. I also didn’t like that it wasn’t a large variety of people. Most of the guest drove to the cruise and seemed to have come from large groups.

Glad I went and I know that I am going to get slammed on this board for saying this, and it is only my opinion from one Celebrity cruise, but Celebrity will not be one of my choices unless the price is really good.

@tulok MANY THANKS for your wonderful LIVE postings and reviews.  It is greatly appreciated.  Best wishes as you travel home, and hope you and yours stay healthy.  We board tomorrow.  I have internet, but, for some reason I am unable to post on CC from my phone, so I will not be reviewing.  No slams from me, only appreciation!

I don't know why you would get slammed for your opinion.  It's your opinion.  We don't all like the same things.  Thanks for your report.

I had a rough 24 hours… husband not as bad. I had been asking from our 1st medical visit for ibuprofin and finally got. Really helped, acetaminophen they gave me in the NyQuil wasn’t effective for me- highest temp so far 102.7.Their dr said what they have seen from COVID lately was like a severe cold, which seems true but I was pretty miserable. All medical is free for this, they gave me a thermometer and pulse ox too.The food they’ve been sending has been decent and meh at times. My taste and smell is fine. There’s no outbreak per our guest relations person. Neither my son nor our friend wanted to pick us up. Haha. We then figured out both of them could drive to port and drop our car to us. Celebrity rep said they are getting car service for us lepers and we leave via different gangway. We were sent a really nice letter w options, technically we coulda stayed on next cruise to issue late or go to hotel. We will get a credit for our days of isolation and I asked for our 379 ish $ in non refundable could be made refundable since I can go shopping or to casino to spend it. I had packed one bag as I went so just my big one has to get stuffed.

husbands gonna try to get me a latte right now. Been drinking Coke… I always do when I’m sick.

I am sorry if this post is a little disjointed, but felt I should update celebrity is taking good care of us.

it was cool to finally see what medical looked like on a ship. They have quite the set up. The nurse laughed when I walked in, she said she knew I was a nurse from the way I walked in. Cute.

b in isolation at sea!

Glad to hear you're doing better and Celebrity is treating you well.  What would it cost if you decided to just stay on the ship?  Would you be released from quarantine after 5 days?

Easier to share the letter we got.

I got my positive home test before we dressed for the chic night. We got dressed, took a few pics & got back into casual clothes cause we knew we had to go down to medical. I was able to pack most of my suitcase, I hate packing at night- so we are on point to get thrown off the ship at 8:30 tomorrow. I finally brought my Bermuda cedar bag from my honeymoon  in Bermuda 41 years ago- back to Bermuda-I  was going to use it tonight… oh well ill add it to our cruise stories.

btw we had to fill out 5 pages of questions due to contact tracing… they even asked what we were wearing day of embarkation.

1800?  That’s been the count on every cruise.  I was on Summit in June. Each time we asked capacity,  it changed.  We had expected reduced capacity. Our cruise was very crowded.  Be careful.

No one should expect reduced capacity at this point.

Day 1: Embarkation was interesting. Part of our party was sent to the suite section the rest of us was sent to general section. When we mention they were with us, they told us they didn’t care if they were sent there, you don’t belong. We are all next to each others rooms in concierge. I found the embarkation people were not very friendly.

They were a little late with check in so we didn’t get on until 1140 with 11:00 checkin. Check in was easy. We had hard copies for everything.

The concierge lunch was good. Limited menu but good. We heard 1800 on board but not sure if that is correct.

The ship is beautiful and staff has been great.

Two bags were delivered by 1:00, one bag still needed. Room is nice 8173. I like the 8th deck so far. A lot more storage than expected. Smaller than our Regent cruise but about the same for our balcony on NCL. A cabin is a cabin to sleep for me. But I have to have the balcony at least.

I found the port staff (we were on the Summit for the July 3 sailing) to be reasonably eager to please but:

- no knowledgeable,

- difficulty with English

- incapable of problem solving

Thanks for publishing the letter.  You guys look great on Chic night.  I might have been tempted to stay on the ship if I was guarantied to get released after 5 days, I would probably get off and rent a car under these conditions.  I wouldn't want to risk 10 days in quarantine.

Good luck. Safe Travels.

I don't understand this comment. any ship leaving from Bayonne to Bermuda as the only port will be predominantly people who live within driving distance. There are many other ships with a Bermuda stop that embark from other ports.  What "variety' of people were you expecting?

I will disagree with your comment about only one port is mainly locals on the ship. We have sailed from Long Beach to one port and it was not mainly California locals.  We just enjoy talking and meeting people from different countries and states. This cruise had a lot of large groups from NY or NJ. In fact, a lot of people not from that area must have thought the same thing as we would meet someone from a different area they would make the joke that we were the first people not from NY or NJ. It wasn’t meant as an insult but that I enjoy talking with people about their city.  Large groups tend to stick to themselves.
