Kudos to Royal Caribbean Group

I thought that this was a pretty classy move by Royal to honor all the deposits that folks who had booked on Crystal Endeavor lost when Crystal went bankrupt.

 

RCG ACQUIRES ENDEAVOR

Royal Caribbean Group has received court approval to acquire the ultra-luxury cruise ship Endeavor. Originally delivered to Crystal Cruises in 2021, the ship will be renamed Silver Endeavour when it officially joins Silversea Cruises' fleet, this month. As part of the ongoing RCL Cares program, Royal Caribbean Group will protect the deposits of guests who were originally booked on Crystal Endeavor and make a new booking on one of our global brands.

At the risk of sounding cynical, why wouldn't they? They have instantaneous bookings for the new addition to their Silversea fleet and it's makes for excellent PR.

Because they bought Silverseas - they don’t need two luxury lines.

And it's a tiny ship to begin with.  Maybe a million or two in deposits is worth it
