App use on board?

How needed is the app on board?   sailing on the eclipse next week and was kind of hoping to totally unplug but if I need to use the app (like on some lines) to access whats going on or the menus it may not be possible.    Just preparing mentally.

My phone goes in the safe..not dealing with that on a cruise. I make out fine.

As much as I like my device I also try to disconnect as much as possible and I’m generally quite successful though not 100%.  I have always been able to figure out what’s going on with few issues and when it comes to the restaurants I can wait until I get seated to look at the menu and easily figure out what I want to eat.  I’m a good planner but also a go with the flow person and frankly it’s easier  and much more relaxing for me.

Totally up to you.   YOu can use it or rely on the paper daily left on your bed.   I often use it to see what are on the menus in various restaurants.

If you don't have wifi you can JUST use the app and unplug for everything else.  Remember phones double as cameras, you may find a good shot or want to take a pic of something to research later.

There's a text feature on it, which we found useful (when it worked!)  Sometimes, we do our own thing on the ship and we'd use the app to text to find each other.

The ability to look at various restaurant menus on the app was very handy when my husband was in a covid isolation stateroom.  Very easy for him to check the Luminae or MDR menus.

Is the app needed?  Nope.   Useful - probably as others said to check the menus.  Anything else I can use the daily program.   Carrying my phone around all day?  Nope except occasionally to snap a picture or two.
