When the server asked, I had to tell him it was the worst lasagna I have ever had in my life. It was made with a bechamel sauce (think Moussaka) instead of a marinara sauce. It was truly awful. Bechamel sauce is a part of regular lasagna recipe

True lasagna is bechamel https://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/WPcap/2000-02/16/001r-021600-idx.html

Even in Canada some Italian restaurants use it in their lasagna. I have never seen it as a top coating but within the layers on top of the red sauce. I am not a fan of bechamel and would not order or eat lasagna with bechamel. Lasagna, as prepared in The North of Italy and Bologna area is traditionally with a Bechamel, and we in Europe most often include bechamel in the recipe. to say that Bechamel does not belong in a Lasagna is simply incorrect. The Bechamel makes a lasagna have a somewhat softer, but rich taste, and pairs wonderfully well with ragù and Tomato sauce. that being said, Bechamel can be be excellent or horrible, making the whole dish a success or epic fail. 3
rkacruiser Posted August 7, 2022 #29 Share Posted August 7, 2022 I think the Pinnacle Grill Burger is more "gourmet" than the MDR or the Dive-in version.
SilvertoGold Posted August 7, 2022 #30 Share Posted August 7, 2022 We remember the vegetarian lasagna on HAL from years ago. Lots of bechamel! It was quite good, lighter, of course, but very tasty.
