If you bid and none are available will they accept the bid and put you a diffrent catagory? For high season, the web site most often shows FV cabins as unavailable, even if some remain in inventory. You wind up having to go through a TA or Celebrity anyway, because for some time, they hold them for 5 pax, and you can only enter 4 online. If moving up from a C1 or similar to an FV on an M class ship, it's definitely a move UP, especially in the corners. More space both inside (an extra 20 sq ft) and out (varies, but can be huge - 242 sq ft) than an S1. The corners even get half again the closet space. Ignoring the perks, an FV is superior cabin space to an S1 any day. Edited August 23, 2022 by canderson

Perhaps someone will cancel or win a bid to a higher category creating an opening for you. It is not uncommon for Celebrity to solicit bids with no cabins currently availalbe. There have been several reports of people getting move-up cabins to higher categories than bid on. It might not happen often, but it has reportedly happened. neminem Posted August 28, 2022 #81 Share Posted August 28, 2022 (edited) On an earlier cruise, we were already booked in a balcony. We bid the minimum on a couple upgrades and didn't get them and were fine with that. On our most recent previous cruise, we were in an inside, bid just slightly more than the minimum, and got an upgrade to a balcony :). Have another cruise in December, will see if that works again, haha. But yeah, surely if you're willing to pay "anything", just ask them how much the upgrade will cost, then pay that much? MoveUp is for people like us, who would be willing to pay a little more, but not a lot more. 😄 Edited August 28, 2022 by neminem
