Tell me about the casino on Virgin's Scarlet Lady

All of the reviews I've seen on Youtube seem to just breeze right through the casino to show you yet another eating venue. lol.

 

I would also be interested in learning something about the casino there (although still pretty leery of the line in general).

We thought that we might me too old, or too fluffy for Virgin, but the reviews have all been great.

We can't wait!

They came out so strongly in marketing to young people, the only person over 30 was the super old guy that owns virgin 😂 Seriously though, my initial reaction it was it it was almost anti-traditional cruiser. But I’m definitely willing to keep an open mind, would be interesting to know what their casino is like. A gambling friend who is Master’s level on RCCL who was on in August didn’t like the ship, but did like the food. Post an update after your cruise 🙂

I'm beginning to wonder just how much time we'll actually spend in the casino since there will be so many new experiences on board to distract us. We don't cruise to gamble, but on Princess, we do partake enough for a decent discount, a bit of freeplay, and the occasional free cabin.

We normally host a group slot pull with folks on our roll calls, but the VV roll calls are graveyards compared to the other lines.

Well I think they’re starting to set up their Casino loyalty program so maybe they may give you some comps for a lower level of play……

Virgin isn’t using a casino as their USP - it’s there just to ‘tick the box’ IMO  

My point was that they are seeking players from other lines pretty actively - clearly they *do*

want players since they are offering us free cruisers. I was saying why do that if your casino is very small. Pretty valid question.

Hello-

 

Thought I’d jump in and answer all the questions that I could. I cruised on her about a year ago and I’m booked on the VL next month. 
 

Yes, the casino is small compared to a mega ship.  There is a smoking room that’s off the main floor with 6-10 slot machines and a few poker machines. Poker isn’t my jam, so didn’t make note of the number of machines.  The room is more of a smoking room that happens to have slot machines.  If that makes sense. 
 

When I sailed there were less that 500 passengers on board and the casino was rarely too busy. I was able to win 2 hand pays, which was nice. I was on a casino-comped cruise and they treated me very well.  Free drinks in the casino and some nice gifts. 
 

I’ll try to answer any other questions the best that I can!!

How do they track your play?  Do you have to get a loyalty card or does your bracelet tap to track the play?
