Death toll is up to 17 now.  Yes out to sea headed for Georgia / South Carolina.

Gosh! My daughter is on a cruise but no problems where their at thank goodness. But she lives in Atlanta actually just  north of Atlanta. Surely that area should be ok I pray.

We’re on Harmony now. Just left a beautiful day in Falmouth, headed toward Labadee. It was sunny and gorgeous this morning in Jamaica and yesterday at sea, is pouring rain now as we travel toward Haiti. It was cloudy and rainy in Nassau and CocoCay, too. But we avoided any hurricane-related stormy weather/seas, which we’re grateful for.

Just read on the news that Ian is in the Atlantic headed back toward SC and GA. We live in the northeast suburbs of Atlanta, so seems we really dodged this hurricane multiple times. Although Atlanta doesn’t get hurricanes. We typically just get rain and some strong gusts from the outermost bands.

The Port of Charleston is closing tomorrow.  Don't know about Baltimore. I think Enchantment is out at sea.  Maybe they'll get an extra day or two like Mariner.  I would welcome a few extra days but I'm aware this disrupts people's schedule for those that have to get back to work. Hopefully the storm will turn out to sea and not affect any more ports.

Enchantment is heading back to Baltimore from a NE/Canada sailing and off to Bermuda tomorrow so they should be fine.

At Orlando, MCO should be open after 12:00 local Friday, however..... it's being reported that over half the airport's jetbridges may be out of service due to water damage with the motors, and that's possibly going to impact the number of gates that can be used.

Looks like JAX won't be re-opening until Saturday morning at the earliest.

Update - I tried FPL’s site again and found out our power was back on.  Not sure how long it was out.  Hopefully the quarter that was on the top of the cup of ice is still there, or at least not too far under the surface.  Replacing food is not a huge expense if that is all we have to pay for.  The evacuation cruise will be fully covered by the jackpot I won on the little piggy slot machine in the casino, for $35 more than the total of the cruise fare, internet, gratuities, and parking!

Congrats, that’s great to hear on your win. Great timing also.

That is great news! Thanks for reporting. Our daughter and family are on your ship and are from just north of the Atlanta area. I've been talking to her through text and they are having a wonderful time! So glad your seas are calm and you were able to make all your ports. Now if MCO is back up and working by Sunday you'll be all good. Enjoy the rest of your cruise.
