Rare pierces Posted October 3, 2022 #1 Share Posted October 3, 2022 Pictures taken between Monday, October 3 and Sunday, October 9. By my count, week 40 means there are only 12 weeks left in 2022 after this one. 2022 photo-ops are running out! Rules: See above That's it. This isn't a contest. All photos taken this week are welcome (not just cruising). Prizes will not be awarded. Discovering the joy of photography is the prize. The idea is to get folks out using their cameras for more than vacations and toddler birthdays. Post one. Post many. Up to you. Have fun with your camera and share your fun with others! Twitchly Posted October 9, 2022 #5 Share Posted October 9, 2022 I think this photo doesn’t qualify, but I just saw it for the first time today. I am just now pulling photos off my camera from our recent cruise. It was impossible to do that during the cruise for a number of reasons. So here we are. These are standing stones on the Orkney islands. They’re about 5000 years old. (I couldn’t get my photo to load, so I took a screenshot of it and loaded that. Anyone know what the size limit for photos here is?)

Rare pierces Posted October 11, 2022 Author #7 Share Posted October 11, 2022 Yes, it's another hockey action shot. At least with the heat and home projects, I have some regular opportunity for intentional, non-random photography. I am also actually learning about a game I have ignored for 98% of my life. The rules surrounding those mysterious blue lines that generate so many whistle stops may actually require some research since nobody I’ve asked has more than a vague clue regarding the subject. Come to think of it, I should corner Grandson Matthew and ask him the next time he visits. He has treated hockey like anything else he is interested in and has learned the rules and tactics well enough to be near-unanimously voted Captain by his teammates. Hail to the Captain! zackiedawg Posted October 12, 2022 #8 Share Posted October 12, 2022 A very rainy weekend for me - managed a few hours out in the wetlands on Saturday, and had to walk through three rainshowers, and hide out for 30 minutes during a downpour in a shelter. But got a few shots: Green iguana sitting in the water - he didn't mind the rain: Black-crowned night heron sitting in the trees getting wet, and giving me a look: Great blue heron standing down in the water: There was a light rain and heavy cloudy skies as this osprey flew by with a fish half-eaten in his talons. He had to scatter from his treetop dinner table when another osprey tried to swoop in and steal his catch: The other osprey, pursuing: Rubber neckers all gathering to look at a wreck - theee glossy ibis joined by a pair of black-bellied whistling ducks. Except they were all looking towards me - so I guess I was the wreck!: Another great blue heron standing regally in the trees:
marysb Posted October 12, 2022 #9 Share Posted October 12, 2022 A Canadian Thanksgiving colour show this weekend. The sun shining on the leaves makes a vivid show. ( no colour enhancement was used on these photos)
