Bit of casual oneupmanship? 😀 Seriously, she might have been thinking of Body and Hand Wash or the soap bar. Liquid Hand Wash/Soap is a different product. Edit Might be a great addition to Cunard's Perfumery, Lotions and Potions shop. I'd buy. Edited October 11, 2022 by Victoria2
Camgirl Posted October 11, 2022 #28 Share Posted October 11, 2022 On our recent cruise on QV, our stateroom shampoo and shower gel were both heavily watered down. We weren't sure at first, but a shower in the gym changing rooms confirmed, as it was not watered down in there. There is a Penhaligan's shop here in Cambridge, if it is of help to anyone. Interesting. None of ours were watered down. Thank you for the idea but I think the product I like onboard must now be peculiar to Cunard as it's not featured anywhere else. Not even on ebay! 🙂

The products I used [liquid soap and shampoo] were of first class consistency. Maybe stewards need to do a viscosity check on all bathroom products! 🙂
Scotsquine43 Posted October 11, 2022 Author #35 Share Posted October 11, 2022 Thank you all for the replies. I shall leave most of my toiletries at home then (will still take my own shampoo and conditioner and though). For those who live in Scotland and would like to source Penhaligans products here, there is a shop in George Street in Edinburgh.
travelersjoy Posted October 12, 2022 #36 Share Posted October 12, 2022 Are the big bottles fixed to the shower wall or just large versions of the older small bottles?
Lakesregion Posted October 12, 2022 #37 Share Posted October 12, 2022 Sounds like some folks have decided to take samples home and in order not to be caught out they have been replacing the larger than usual usage with tap water. People will find a way around most company's reduction in perceived services and percs. The bar soap and the small bottles were certainly more useable and were percs.

I think the larger bottles [300ml] are more useable as they're pump action and no, they're not fixed on the wall travelersjoy. or they weren't in our cabin. Host Hattie Posted October 12, 2022 #40 Share Posted October 12, 2022 I liked the big bottles as well, the shampoo and body wash are in a holder in the shower and are much easier to use than fiddling around with the little bottles was. There's space in the holder for your own shampoo and conditioner as well.
Rare carlmm Posted October 12, 2022 #41 Share Posted October 12, 2022 In my cabin on the QE all of the bottles were large and standing by the sink. The size caused in so far a problem that only one bottle fitted into the holder in the shower, not both shower gel and shampoo. Still, I prefer the stand alone moveable bottles over ones fixed to the wall. These cry to loud cost saving cheap hostel.
Petulia Posted October 12, 2022 #42 Share Posted October 12, 2022 Firstly I have to commend the Quercus hand wash as it gave a lovely rich lather and with frequent hand washing we got through rather a lot of it. When the bottle was just half empty our lovely stewardess would refill the large bottle. We had two wire shelves in the shower of our QV cabin with the large shampoo and body wash bottles stored on the lower one. I used the upper shelf for my own toiletries. It worked well for us. lljost Posted October 12, 2022 #43 Share Posted October 12, 2022 Slightly off subject but I cannot remember since it's been a few years since we are on board Queen Mary. Is there a shelf or some type of place to set your own travel size shampoo, conditioner and razor in the shower? Otherwise I bring a small caddy that self sticks to the wall. Thank you in advance for your help!
Rare DaisyUK Posted October 12, 2022 #44 Share Posted October 12, 2022 I know this subject has been done to death, but... There is absolutely no doubt that our Penhaligon's toiletries were watered down on our recent QE sailing. I use these products all the time, so am very familiar with them.

Rare D&N Posted March 3, 2023 #50 Share Posted March 3, 2023 Sorry for resurrecting this but I didn't think my observation merited a thread of it's own. I was perusing what appears to be a recent version of the Wine List and I came across a Slovenian white named: Pinot Grigio Quercus, Klet Brda, Goriska Brda, 2018 at $34. I'm wondering whether this might be based on the hand wash, shower gel or shampoo? 🤣 Surprisingly it actually gets some decent reviews on specialist wine sites.
