SSAtlantic Posted October 18, 2022 #27 Share Posted October 18, 2022 I will be following and taking notes. A trip to Tuscany, then a Med cruise, followed by a TA is my bucket list retirement cruise. Enjoy your trip and stay safe.

Rare LACruiser88 Posted October 19, 2022 Author #29 Share Posted October 19, 2022 (edited) Today, we spent a great day in Florence and visited the Duomo. It was very warm for the time of year, 82 f. Definitely shorts weather. We had lunch at Il Pesce at the upstairs food court in the Central Market. This is a very high quality location with many food and beverage options. We highly recommend Il Pesce for great seafood options! Edited October 19, 2022 by LACruiser88

chrysalis Posted October 21, 2022 #40 Share Posted October 21, 2022 We had an excellent meal at the Crown grill last night, with very good service even though we had a large table of 8. Apparently the cut off for the MTP luncheon is just over 300 days. Corfu Greece tomorrow. Going to watch sailing out of kotor from the wakeview bar area prior to dinner. Very few chairhogs it seems around main pools, and very attentive drink service. Next week we will try the retreat pool All is well

God willing and the creek don't rise (and our legs hold out) we are planning on trying to walk up the steps on the hill.

I couldn't find it on the deck plans. I'm interested because Phil and I always take a bottle of wine out to the bar at the back of the ship on the last port to say goodbye to dry land for the sea days of the transatlantic. 🙂
chrysalis Posted October 21, 2022 #44 Share Posted October 21, 2022 Maybe not the correct name on this particular ship but it is the open deck area on 16 aft of the buffet. 6 hours ago, Anubi said: Confused...where is the Wakeview Bar? Rare LACruiser88 Posted October 21, 2022 Author #47 Share Posted October 21, 2022 In November of 2019, we met the owner of the Uccelliera winery in Montalcino at the James Suckling "Top 100 Wines of Italy" event in LA. We were originally going to visit the winery in 2020. We all know what happened to 2020. Today we finally met with Andrea and his lovely wife, Paola, at their winery. After 4 hours of tasting thru 6 years of Brunello di Montalcino vintages, they made us feel like family. Such lovely people and great wines!
Rare LACruiser88 Posted October 22, 2022 Author #48 Share Posted October 22, 2022 Today we spent the day in Siena. It was a bit cooler and breezy today. On the way back "home" we stopped at the castle in Monteriggioni (the last two photos). IMHO it was not worth the $2.50 parking fee.
