ProgRockCruiser Posted October 19, 2022 #9 Share Posted October 19, 2022 Weirdly, I don't see anything on Carnival Corp's Press Center website about this, nor is it mentioned on Princess Cruise Lines' website - they still have the announcement from late Sept about vaxxed not needing a test, unvaxxed can self-administer. Anyone have a link to an official announcement? Once Carnival Corp starts such things about testing/vax with one line the rest usually follow within a day or two. ChrisCJR Posted October 20, 2022 #20 Share Posted October 20, 2022 This company sure does operate in interesting ways. Seems like Princess is a step a head of Carnival each time even though Princess has the longer itineraries on average. No doubt, it's coming to most lines soon. Norwegian already did it. RCI and Carnival are probably just a couple weeks away, if not sooner.

They operate independent of each other and don't necessarily have the same policies.

Princess markets itself to an older crowd than Carnival or Royal so I think they have a higher vaccination rate than Carnival/Royal. Removing all protocols doesn’t change much if most people are vaccinated anyway.
Linguist208 Posted October 21, 2022 #23 Share Posted October 21, 2022 Has no one see this on Carnival's website? TESTING REQUIREMENTS Vaccinated Guests with Proof of Vaccination Cruises of 15 nights or less: Although not required, we encourage all vaccinated guests 5 years of age and older to take a pre-cruise test within three days of their cruise. Cruises of 16 nights or more: Guests age 5 years and older have to present a PCR or antigen test taken within 3 days before sailing (unsupervised self-tests are not accepted). Yes, but we are discussing that Princess has dropped testing for UNVACCINATED as well.

And the resultant logic, which is no need to show proof of vaccination status. I do hope Carnival (the cruise line) proceeds with the same, since that is where we are right now as public policy in general. It makes no sense to jump through that hoop any more.
