MsSoCalCruiser Posted October 20, 2022 #1 Share Posted October 20, 2022 I have been looking for info and/or photos on Cabin E408 but have been unsuccessful. Have you ever booked this cabin? Thank you for your help.
Rare sunviking90 Posted October 20, 2022 #2 Share Posted October 20, 2022 I have not, but we were in E405 on the Majestic which is across the way and down one. No obstruction (as you probably know) just can’t see down to the water. Much larger balcony. 1
Wishing on a star Posted October 20, 2022 #3 Share Posted October 20, 2022 Should be a great cabin and location with a larger balcony! We have been in a similar mid-ship cabin. I think on the Discovery, there will be the shade-tarp covers for the available dining area below. These will be just below you, and then looking out across open water. I have seen a photo of this view. But would have to try to remember where to find it.
john watson Posted October 20, 2022 #4 Share Posted October 20, 2022 I think you will find the obstructed designation to balcony cabins on Emerald Deck relates to the lifeboats obstructing the view if you stand at the rail and look out at a downward angle as opposed to looking out horizontally which is a clear sea view. Wishing on a star Posted October 20, 2022 #5 Share Posted October 20, 2022 (edited) No lifeboats on these mid-ship bump out cabins. Only that extended open deck area just below. The newer ships that have restaurants below on Promenade can have the shade-tarp covers there just below. uspearls Posted October 20, 2022 #6 Share Posted October 20, 2022 As other said, confirming there is no horizontal obstructed view from that cabin. One slight correction to the OP - the lifeboats will be to your right, rather than down. I had my parents in a deluxe balcony a couple of cabins down on the Enchanted (virtually identical) and there is just a white shade cover over the protruding outdoor eating area on Deck 7 (which is a very quiet area as there aren't many people out there, particularly later at night). This small area of "obstructed" view balconies and deluxe balconies is a great value - grab it!
