Current GM on Riviera

We heard that there is a new GM on Riviera.....we were looking forward to sailing with the GM who had been on this Fall..

The GM's usually do a 2 or 3 mth contract  so they will swap out  depending on what their  time is allocated

We just got off Riviera a few days ago and the GM was Emma Smith.  She commented at the repeaters meeting that nobody knows her because she was recently promoted

Sorry to hear that Thierry is no longer with Oceania.  He was their lead GM and a terrific person.

Yes Linkedin states May 2005 - Oct 2022. 17 years 6 months with Oceania.

Just to put it plainly, Thierry didn’t “leave”. It wasn’t his decision.

Thierry Tholon was GM on a few of our cruises and was helpful on one in particular when our suite onboard Sirena was flooded.  Difficult to replace that type of experience and unfortunate that his departure wasn't his decision. Perhaps he has moved (or will)  to another cruise line e.g. Atlas Ocean Voyages. Did notice that James Rodriguez, formerly EVP at Oceania who left O last year is now President and CEO of Atlas after 19 years with Oceania. His Executive Team has a few ex-Oceania members currently in place.

Would have hoped he left to supervise the finalization of Vista.  He was their best GM, very customer centric.

If anyone knows who will be CD on Riviera over Christmas (guess the changing of the guard will happen on the TA beforehand) I’d love to know so I can get extra excited or invest in earbuds 😉
