No last minute specials then?

Nope, $25k for 10 nights for a solo cabin. I think the lowest was $6.5k each. Strewth I pa8n less than that for 30+ nights around Aus or Hawaii.

A friend is sailing on an expedition cruise leaving tomorrow.

Believe it or not, bookings are still open right now.

But then at the price I wonder why.

Was it on this one - Ocean Victory Gut?  The Antarctic expedition cruise season has just commenced.

If the lowest fare was around 6.5K that certainly is cheap for Antarctica - usually more than double that for 10 days. Unfortunately most leave from South America so a long (and $$) flight to get there in the first place.

Antarctica and the Arctic are both particularly expensive for expedition cruises but for those who do go, unforgettable. I have been lucky to have done both.

I agree November is too early in the Season for an Antarctic Expedition.  $25,000 is too expensive for off season.

Nope it was around some of the Southern Islands, that was the top cabin on the ship and solo, just blew my mind that on Saturday you could still book for Sunday, and they boarded at 4pm for a 5pm sail away

But it wasn’t Antartica it was within Australia.

You don't hear of that here often, but Americans do it regularly from Florida.

That was my mistake (didn't engage the brain). Expedition cruises are expensive at all times. Have looked at Kimberley at times but not keen on $26+K for a cabin for the two of us for 8 days or so.
