Rare Host Jazzbeau Posted November 20, 2022 #1 Share Posted November 20, 2022 I bought a thumb drive of photos from the ship's photographer on Journey in October, and he included 12 shots of the four ships together in Kotor. This one has me perplexed: I know that all Azamara ships are painted in the color that Captain Carl chose and calls 'blue' [which I call 'black'...] But the three older ships show red at the waterline in this photo; while Onward (in the back) shows light blue [you need to zoom in on Onward to see it]. Is this correct, or a trick of the lighting?
Rare Host Jazzbeau Posted November 20, 2022 Author #2 Share Posted November 20, 2022 Meanwhile, for those who want to 'collect the entire set,' here are the other photos. [I'm pretty sure the the green dot is not painted on the side of Onward, as it keeps moving – but it reminds me of some spy or horror movie where that was the tipoff that someone was about to be obliterated... Where was Photoshop when they needed it???] 3

Not an optical illusion here’s a picture of Onward in the Amsterdam shipyard showing that the anti-fouling paint is in fact blue.

betsey Posted November 21, 2022 #6 Share Posted November 21, 2022 Nice photos. I was on the Pursuit at the time. It's a real disappointment that the ships didn't do anything to commemorate this moment.
royallondon Posted November 21, 2022 #7 Share Posted November 21, 2022 Lovely set of photos. This topic heading “Four Ships”, could be a surgeon’s take of a famous British comedy sketch by the two Ronnies called “Four Candles”.

I agree, they could easily have given all guests a postcard of the ships photo or even a certificate signed (digitally of course) by all four captains

I got the impression that the focus was more on general marketing of the event like sending up drones to take the photos. And we were blessed with the most stunning sunrise. Rare uktog Posted November 22, 2022 #10 Share Posted November 22, 2022 Yes we were watching you. We had a few drone people on Journey. It was definitely marketing’s day. Understand that they couldn’t do a big off ship event but a little marker would have gone a long way
JandMinToronto Posted November 22, 2022 #11 Share Posted November 22, 2022 (edited) We were on the Journey and awake actually for the 4-sisters event. Unfortunately I wasn't on my balcony at the time of the pictures otherwise I'd have been waving for the pictures! Oh well. I had booked years ago when there were only the 3-sisters hoping for a grand Azamazing evening, but I understand the pandemic (I won't say it's over) and logistics made that impossible. Edited November 22, 2022 by JandMinToronto fixed a typo: I mentioned the wrong ship....we were on the Journey

Rare Tahitianbigkahuna Posted December 12, 2022 #13 Share Posted December 12, 2022 (edited) Looking forward to the AzAmazing meet up (sisters) in October 2023 (Slovenia) . Looks like a great night they have planned and yes it is likely for marketing purposes but so what ... I think it will be fun. I'm a Paul Gauguin regular ... first time on Azamara. I've been gleaning on Azamara pages for some time ... helped me make some choices. I do have a group with me ... hopefully I made good picks 😁 I was on R3 & R4 many years ago in FP Edited December 12, 2022 by Tahitianbigkahuna
Rare Host Jazzbeau Posted December 12, 2022 Author #16 Share Posted December 12, 2022 I'm putting the finishing touches on my blog and review of Azamara's Adriatic Wonders cruise from this October, which stopped at a few of the ports late in your cruise. I'll publish it as a new thread on this board – hopefully soon.
