First cruise :embarkation port Miami

Leaving in the Summit in 12 days!  First cruise in forever.  We have a crazy 10:30 embark time.  We’re staying 2 miles from the port, Uber over.  If we get there too early will they let us in?  I know we drop bags curbside, then is there a line to enter the terminal? Please explain the process!  Do we wait for our turn to board?  So many great unknowns.

If you arrive early they probably won’t let you in, and it would definitely be too early to board (by half an hour or so) because they will still be cleaning the ship from previous cruise.  But don’t fret…..go at your assigned time, join the queue and check-in should be easy.  You will be among the first to board the ship.

 

if you have been used to looking for dedicated check in lines for Concierge, Elite, Aqua, etc. you won’t find them.  It’s all done by assigned time now.

Also, pack a healthy measure of patience as Miami can be a madhouse. Once you are on the boat all will be well!

Be careful Uber surge pricing can be expensive. We were going to Uber then decided to use the hotel shuttle for $12 pp and saved $20.

Lyft in the Miami area is generally less expensive.

I would plan to arrive no earlier than 10:15.   Remember the people are still disembarking until about 9:30 and it then takes some time for the terminal to clear.   Usually they don't start boarding the ship until 11.

It is not your boarding time. It's your arrival time.

We haven't cruised Celebrity since the majority of the check in process is done on the app.  Just curious what happens when we get to the terminal?  Do we still have to get in line to check in or does someone just check out app?
