Carnival Milestone OBC Benefit Calculation Clarification

Recommended Posts

Seasons Greetings to All,

I have read much on the topic of Carnival Milestone On-board Credit benefits and nothing I found seems to clarify explicitly one detail of the Carnival Milestone On-board Credit.  I appreciate an help you can give me in understanding this better.

Carnival says the following on the topic:

"In appreciation for their loyalty, the guest will also be granted the opportunity to redeem a future non-refundable onboard credit equivalent to 25%, 50% or 75% of the cruise ticket price, corresponding to the milestone reached."

Reference: GUEST RECOGNITION - MILESTONE REWARDS PROGRAM

Here is my question:

Does the Carnival Milestone OBC benefit apply to just that guest's ticket price (cruise fare minus port taxes and fees) or does it apply to the entire cabin's ticket price (all cruise fares minus all port taxes and fees)?

No one seems state this clearly in the various posts I have read.  Part of the reason I ask is because my PVP spoke confidentially about the program and then proceeded to put in a request to apply all 3 of our milestone benefits to the same future cruise where one of us has $1 cruise fare (from a great sale in Feb 2022).  If the benefit for that guest only applies to that guest's cruise fare than applying it for that cruiser to $1 cruise ticket price would the WORST POSSIBLE use of a milestone OBC benefit EVER!  If this is so then I am very concerned about the knowledge and experience of my Carnival Personal Vacation Planner.

Just the guest that qualifies for the Milestone credit. If both persons qualify, both can get the the credit. If all qualify, you don't have to take the benefit on the same cruise.

Pretty sure it is only for base fare, not port fees/taxes, right? That is part of OP’a question.

Yes, I'd like to confirm this, since we now only cruise on casino comps the only cost besides the port fees and taxes is either $200 or $400 total cabin price.

OP, I would get hold of Carnival immediately.  I am confident they will 'undo' the application of your Milestone in the way your PVP handled it.  You ALWAYS use it on your most expensive cruise on or following the actual Milestone event.  It is NEVER required that you use it on the actual initial qualifying cruise.

Does one call that same number to have the complementary specialty dinner applied to a specific cruise?

If you're talking about the Diamond benefit, that number is 855-386-8437. If you have the certificate, you can just present it whenever you choose to go,

Yes thank you. I was mixing up the benefits. We never received any certificates. I turned Diamond on the Pride this summer on the 2rd cruise of 3 and 25th milestone on the 3rd cruise and my husband turned Diamond on the 3rd cruise of 3 and 25th last week on the Celebration, and also no Certificate. The Pride really didn't have their act together on most things, unfortunately.

You should have also gotten leather luggage tag holder and passport book.

NONE of that! As I said, the Pride really didn't have their act together in Europe this summer. Although it could have been due to supply chain issues. But the Pride also missed printing my milestone cruise with the special keycard, it was just the regular white Diamond card.

I didn’t get a certificate when I became diamond, just a letter letting me know about the benefits including the steakhouse dinner for 2.  Guest Services said if I want to use it on a future cruise, just take the letter to the steakhouse on the cruise I want to use it on, and everything should be fine. I hope that’s so.  I plan to use it on the Panorama in January.

Thank you all for the clarity you have given.  I am truly disappointed in my PVP and I will be letting him know.  I tried calling the Milestone desk and ended up getting my call answered by Casino booking.  In the end they gave me a better number to call to get Guest Admin on the phone on Monday.  I'm removing this from our net booking completely.  Waiting for a more expensive cruise for sure.

Thank you!
