I was looking at one of the itineraries on that list and it appears the pricing listed includes Air and Olife

I wonder if you have to take that to get the "up to 800 SBC" or can you get it by taking the "cruise only fare"?

Generally you have to take OLife to get the SBC, but not the air.  However, the cost of the SBC is simply added to the cruise only fare, so there is no net savings.

We have a couple of applicable bookings, but our fares are much lower. Will ask our TA if she can get us the extra OBCs but I know the answer.

Yes, the sales price can be more than an early booking price, since any sale price "discount" is on the most recently published fare.

but we also have 2 that are the same price...so will see what the TA says....would love to use that "best price guarantee" and receive the 600 OBCs

Good luck.  Hope it works out.

The T&Cs (on O's website) for this promo are somewhat vague with respect to combinability with other offers. Here is additional info I found (check with your TA though just in case!):

  • Promotion is NOT combinable with <an unnamed consortium to hopefully not break CC rules> amenities.
  • Promotion is combinable with OLife Choice, Premium Economy Airfare, and Oceania Club Benefits, where applicable.
  • Promotion may not be combinable with any other discount, fare, or promotion including but not limited to Hosted Voyages, Groups, Onboard Savings, Cruise Night Offers, AMEX CPP, Amex Gold Card, Casino promotions, past guest discounts, Single Specials, Holiday upgrade offers, Kids Sail Free, Travelzoo, Consumer Event promos and/or any unpublished fares or other special offers.

Just checked online and it seems the 20th anniversary sale is not available in Australia.  I wonder if it is available in any other countries outside of USA/Canada?  In Australia we are not able to book Cruise Only.

Same place had "Promotion is valid for residents of the U.S. and Canada."

I guess I checked too early, we just received an email with the 20 Anniversary offer.  I have sent an email to check whether we will qualify as our booked cruise is included in the promotion but don’t hold out a lot of hope.

Sadly, compared to the cabin upgrade sales in the recent past (e.g., Presidents' Day), this one is hardly a "sale" at all. Just glad we booked our two 2023 and one 2024 cruises in early 2022. Beat the price increases and then we were able to use sales to upgrade to better cabin for a lot less.

need to have an agent that can understand all the intricacies...ours clearly does not...now trying to restore what we had...she went ahead without our permission and cancelled what we had ...so now we are paying more and getting very little in return....

yes better to wait for the presidents sale and then hope an agent can figure out how to apply it...someone here told me to use the phrase "best price" guarantee to get it applied....

However, since this "sale" runs thru the END of February 2023, I don't think there will be a dedicated "Presidents' Day Sale" in 2023. Have to watch Memorial Day and Labor Day.

And YES, always say, "Best Price Guarantee"!

Still smile every time I think of the 2021 sale that February. A 10-night Concierge A4 on Riviera for just $2099. Never see that price again! The 2022 Memorial Day sale got us a B4 on Riviera (11/9-19/2023) for $2249. Current published cruise only list is $2999. Another sale in 2022 got me the larger C1 Deluxe Outside (7006, up high on deck 7) on Sirena for $2849. Current published rate is $3199.

...we have an insignia for 2024, New Years, will wait for a real sale to do this....it is quite expensive....

Never looked into a Christmas or New Years cruise due to the expense. And they don't seem to get the sale activity. BUT we try to cruise near them when you do get the sales (e.g., Riviera 12/13-23/21), and the decorations (Sirena, 11/18-28/22).

And if you ever want to literally cry, see the published Presidents' Day sale for 2021 when O thought they'd restart in May. So many great cruises at fantastic prices! But then they cancel May, then June, then July, etc. So glad we thought that would happen which is why we went for the 12/21 cruise.

I’ve been scouring through the T&C and can’t find this excerpt.  Would you mind posting the link that you are reading?

yes the Chrismas/New years on the Insignia for dec/Jan 2024 is part of this sale....but will wait for a better sale as it is quite expensive....I think it is part of the sale because all is available..

I haven’t looked at the site to confirm, but I believe that segment is at the beginning of the ATW cruise on Insignia.  Perhaps that’s why it’s expensive. I only know this because we’re actually booked on the segment from Los Angeles to Auckland.

I contacted my TA who called O and learned that we could get the anniversary’s $400 OBC added but would lose the existing free tips ($252) from the travel group’s perk. We had our TA make the change to gain an additional $148 of OBC & our tips are still covered. 😊

Nice, good for you, Astro Flyer!  Unfortunately, the particular cruise that I booked went up in price since I booked as well as losing the gratuities, so I am glad you checked since yours was a gain!   🙂
