Yes, lovely blossom pictures Mysty.  I looked up your special dinner, and it sounds like a (delicious) version of schnitzel, Asian style.

Thank you all!  We were thrilled to be able to witness the beauty! 😁

Yesterday we were in Otaru, Japan.  Definitely chilly temperatures.  Snow on the mountains as we sailed in.

The tour we had booked had been canceled so we did a short walkabout.....

We had a lovely send off on sail away.....

We're now into our second sea day en route to Dutch Harbor,  Alaska.   I'm not sure how many sea days we are facing.  We will be crossing the Intercontinental Date Line at some point.

As expected,  temperatures are in the very chilly range.   We braved the Grill last night along with a number of hardy souls.   It was Formal Night.

So no grill tonight in a strapless gown? 😃

No Grill last night and absolutely no strapless gown!  🤣  It was actually Informal last night and it was Farewell to Japan.  We really enjoyed it!

Tonight we cross the International Dateline.   We'll set our clocks back 23 hours and repeat May 4th.   I really hope today is a good day.   I'd rather not repeat a not-so-good day!

Today was a very enjoyable sea day.  Wine lecture and tasting with the very knowledgeable and entertaining gent Silversea Wine Ambassador Lawrence D'Almeida.

Today is our last sea day before Dutch Harbor.   Temperature continues to be glacial.   Our suite is cold and there are few places on the ship that are warm.  I thought I had planned for this.   It turns out that I am woefully unprepared!  😒

Last night we had another of our special request meals served in our suite.  It was Tonkatsu.  It was amazing!

Cheering you on M. You set out on your adventure before I did and despite my being away for a month, I returned home several lifetimes ago. What amazing things you have seen and experienced on this epic adventure. Much love to you both xxx

Mysty--did you choose the right clothes to bring along? Are you so sick of them now that you'll trash them when you get home? Inquiring minds.😜

I brought mostly the right clothes.   Not sick of them.  😅  However, I did pack things that I haven't worn very much and I didn't pack enough cold weather stuff.  It isn't a real problem though.  I am dreading the packing! 😒

Today was a sea day en route to Kodiak, Kodiak Island, Alaska.  Here are a couple of photos from our sail away from Dutch Harbor yesterday.....

This is what our world map looks like now.  Our voyage appears as a black line and our current location is shown by the red magnet.

Mysty, you need a Pacific-centered map for this voyage! No crossing from one side to the other.
