h-sar Posted January 1, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 1, 2023 (edited) Hi, we are currently on the Regal Princess for New Yrs and will be taking a very short, 4 day, Bahamas cruise on Millennium right after. Not an ideal amount of time, but we had a few days before our flight back to Canada and wanted to maximize our time in the sun. Got a great deal on the cruise - will be cheaper than a hotel stay in FLL. It will be our first time on Celebrity, so am hoping for any tips that experienced Celebrity cruisers can offer. Will definitely go read as many reviews on here as I can find. Happy New Yr! Edited January 1, 2023 by h-sar
Rare Ripheus Posted January 1, 2023 #2 Share Posted January 1, 2023 If you like good drinks, find Marren in Cellar Masters. She's the best bartender on the ship.

I agree with this!! Can't wait to see her again in March! Other small tips: the pastries in the display case in Cafe al Bacio are free!! Yummy. The Spa Cafe is tucked away near the indoor pool and has light/healthy breakfast and lunch options and is included.
High on the Seas Posted January 1, 2023 #4 Share Posted January 1, 2023 Ice cream in the buffet area is included. The gelato near the coffee shop is not. I second the free treats at Cafe Al Bacio. Excellent cookies and cakes and all free. No coffee needs to be purchased to enjoy.
Rare DaKahuna Posted January 1, 2023 #5 Share Posted January 1, 2023 Reading with interest. We have 8 past cruises but have never been on a Millennium class ship but will be on Millie in April.
Dancing Shoes Posted January 2, 2023 #6 Share Posted January 2, 2023 Loved the Millie. Didn't care for the Sky Lounge windows. Not enough seating by them, and they were slanted. Huge Buffet area. Have fun.
Rare DCPIV Posted January 2, 2023 #7 Share Posted January 2, 2023 The Rendezvous Lounge is a great place to have a drink or two before dinner. There's often a great band in there, and the seating is very comfortable.

The Ensemble has an "afterthought" feel to me. But the Rendezvous has the bar in the rear, a nice dance floor, elevated side seating (so you can watch whatever is happening on the dance floor), and a recessed area for live music. The Millennium is a "revolutionized" ship, so has an interesting buffet area. The newly designed Ocean View has increased seating, interesting islands and we find it an improvement over the prior design. 3
Wineaux007 Posted January 2, 2023 #9 Share Posted January 2, 2023 The Thalassotherapy Pool in the Solarium is a great place to relax. Check out the themed dinners back aft in the Ocean View Cafe. It's a change of pace from the MDR. They make strip steaks, chops, fish, and chicken op the grill to order.

We are looking forward to enjoying some quality time in the Rendezvous lounge. One of our favorite hangouts on the S-Class is the Ensemble Lounge. I was looking at the deck plans for the Rendezvous layout and it looks interesting. Was not sure if the bar was in the middle or in the back so glad you cleared that up for us.
Rare kk20 Posted January 2, 2023 #12 Share Posted January 2, 2023 (edited) We’re debarking as you embark! I agree with the advice to seek out Marren in cellar masters. She’s super knowledgeable about wines and spirits, so if you’re interested in trying something new, she’ll steer you in the right direction. Curtley works at the pool and and casino bar. He’s a great bartender too and if you’re looking to try new cocktails, he’s your guy! And finally, if you just want some crazy entertainment, visit the pool bar while Willie’s on duty! He’ll keep you laughing at his antics every day Edited January 2, 2023 by kk20
Rare AstoriaPreppy Posted January 2, 2023 #13 Share Posted January 2, 2023 As others have noted, the Rendezvous lounge on the revolutionized Millennium/Summit is greatly improved. It's now a great place to hang out and read daytime, bright and full of light. Also, the buffet design was greatly improved in both seating and passenger flow. I'd recommend the martini bar staff on Millennium. Most of them chose working on the M-class over the S/E class because of the lower passenger loads and increased interaction opportunities... lots more chances for them to get to know you and your beverage preferences. Also, keep an eye out for Satoko in Cafe al Bacio. She's a Japanese barista, and possibly one of the most lovely ship staffers I've ever encountered. kab407 Posted January 2, 2023 #19 Share Posted January 2, 2023 We are hopping on the Millie tomorrow for a post holiday cruise. The last time we were on her was for an Alaska cruise back in 2014. Looking forward to relaxing for a few days. Must find Marren. Curley, I know we will see. Several time a day….

I think what you might have thought was the bar in the center is the dance floor and stage.
Rare DaKahuna Posted January 2, 2023 #21 Share Posted January 2, 2023 Does anyone have a picture of the lunch menu for the Retreat Sundeck on Millie? The app does not show a menu for the Retreat Sundeck and I am looking to see what is currently being offered.

tangogulf Posted January 3, 2023 #25 Share Posted January 3, 2023 My wife and I did a 14 day Asia cruise out of Hong Kong just after she was refurbished. She is a fabulous ship with a great crew at the time. Love the enhancements which have made an older ship pretty much new again. I think you will definitely enjoy your time on her.
