Let’s just hope things do not change too drastically in July when Frank is gone. While NCLH needs to make up for lots of debt, let’s hope the folks with the green eye shades do not assume ultimate control over O and drive it into the ground with contrary policies and cost cutting and price increases. We were looking forward to meeting Frank in Rome in May and we retirees will have to welcome him to the Retirement Club. Mauibabes I'm pretty sure the bean counters are busy counting to see how many beans can be squeezed from the clientele before there is serious pushback. The idea of a "side shopping trip" in each port is not consistent with Oceania's stated policy at https://oceaniacruises.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360005405394-What-is-your-alcohol-policy-for-bringing-bottles-on-board- "any additional purchases above and beyond the three (now 6) bottles made during the cruise at any of the ports may be held for you until the end of the cruise." I just disembarked the Riviera after taking my first O sailing. My TA told me I could bring whatever I wanted on board at embarkation or in ports, either in checked or carry on. I brought 5 bottles of wine and a small bottle of gin and dry vermouth initially. When I realized the ship had no decent bourbon or sweet vermouth on board we got some at our first port along with beer and more wine. No one blinked an eye or counted what we brought on. I found the offerings onboard to be seriously lacking. Being able to bring on what I wanted made all the difference. I don’t know why but the three martinis we ordered in the bars - Martinis, Horizons, Casino- were all served in Margherita glasses. I really did not care for that presentation. BTW we carried much of that off as well. I like choices though so thank goodness for luggage with wheels. Is it possible to see a wine list for bottles onboard? Thanks. Interested in this as well. I haven’t cruised Oceania since 2019, but we bought bottles of wine that we could summon from whatever restaurant we were in. Can we still do this? Go to posts 1, 3, and 9. Those drinks are included in the Prestige package at any time. If you have the House Select package (the one that is an O-Life choice), only the wines and beers are included with lunch and dinner.
JPR Posted March 29, 2023 #209 Share Posted March 29, 2023 Don’t think much of the Chilean cab and merlot by the glass. For us, the Deakin Shiraz is the only decent red by the glass. If they have Wente Cab by the glass, that is a winner too.
2SeaAll Posted March 29, 2023 #210 Share Posted March 29, 2023 If anyone can post a photo of the "new" [curtrent?] Martinis Bar drink menu i would be very appreciative. There are drinks on this menu that are not available elsewhere on the ship. As a point of reference, the menu I am seeking has a drink named "4 Stripes" or similar [as I can best remember from a February Riviera cruise]; I'm most interested in the content description for that drink and one other cocktail on that menu. Thank you.

vaitape Posted April 2, 2023 #214 Share Posted April 2, 2023 Does one need to be seated at a table in a restaurant in order to use the house drink package or is the package available in bars during the hours that lunch and dinner are being served in the restaurants? Looking at the new price list and thinking maybe I will drink enough to justify it.😃 Only did it once before and didn't drink enough to justify the cost. You received OBC because they changed the port? Ours also changed: Venice to Trieste. Received a huge catalog of 2024 cruises. Inside was a long list of changes to almost all of the Mediterranean cruises; mostly Venice to Trieste. Many also changed overnight stays, and some actually said: many other itinerary changes. i.e either too long to list, or TBD.

We booked this early in 2022. Was originally Venice but changed to Trieste. When that happened late last year we each received what shows on our "Guest Statement" as "Gift Orders US$125 Complimentary Stateroom Shipboard Credit". I don't think O is doing that for all those 2024 cruises, since they sent out that general notice well in advance of 2024.

I booked my May 2023 in Sept 21 and at that time it said cruise was leaving from Venice. Maybe yours had changed by the time you booked? It is also confusing when they put the port followed in brackets where you will really be. It wasn't until someone on a roll call pointed out that my Barcelona debarkation last year was in Tarragona i.e. Barcelona[Tarragona]

Pulled up the data and found the old e-mail from O. - We booked it 2/16/22. - From an O e-mail dated 5/12/22: "Due to the ongoing governmental prohibition of cruise ships within Venice, please note your embarkation port of Venice, Italy, has been replaced with Trieste, Italy. In appreciation for your understanding of this change, we will be providing a $250 shipboard credit per suite or stateroom, which will be automatically added to your onboard account." lilybug Posted June 14, 2023 #222 Share Posted June 14, 2023 Thank you for all the drink information, prices about the same as nice restaurants. I only drink red wine and of course, my wine of choice is Chianti and I see it's one of the highest priced by the glass🙄. I'm hoping to bring some on board if I can purchase it in Belfast before boarding. I'll have my first glass in our cabin and purchase by the bottle for consumption around the ship. I assume you're saying that you will take a bottle to the various venues and pay the corkage fee and are sticking to your cabin for the by-the-glass drinks. Their corkage fee is way more than I normally spend for a bottle. 1
