Boarding the Celebrity Edge today!!  Our dinner last night at Il Mulino in Sunny Isles was just as great as it is at the Il Mulino in NYC.  Because of traffic, it took an 1 hour and 20 minutes Uber drive to get there from the Conrad in Ft. Lauderdale.  Only took 33 minutes to go back.  Il Mulino is located in the stunning Acqualina resort in Sunny Isles.  The servers brought the usual starters of parmigiana, fried zucchini, salami and bruschetta.  That could have been a meal by itself.  Next we ordered the porcini mushroom ravioli with a champagne truffle cream sauce to share as an appetizer and it’s one of the best dishes we have ever eaten.  Entrees were spicy lobster arrabbiata and  rack of lamb in a mustard sauce followed by an old off menu item for dessert, the grand marnier oranges.  At the conclusion of our meal, they brought out their leche grappa.  It really was one of the best meals and we would brave the long traffic to go again.  Photos are below.  Brian may add more about the meal later.  He’s been working before we board the ship.

Next up, Celebrity Edge!!!

We are staying in the same cabin we had in March 2022.  Just love in the mornings pushing the drapes button and voila! A beautiful view of the ocean to wake up to.

Another feature is the movable mirror from the bathroom to add natural light.

Cheers from The Edge!

Loved our Sky Suite on Edge! We had a bonus with Captain Kate onboard.

The only downside in the Retreat deck was shade! That has been addressed as I had shared we have sailed the Apex.

Enjoy that "Adult" time!

Cheers!

After boarding and making some dining adjustments, we hit Luminae for a quick burger. Sooo good.

AG, our Retreat Host, came by and we were told the ship is PACKED. 2,700 booked with a capacity of 3,000. This does not include anyone that didn’t make it in time.

We are getting ready to leave port. I need a martini 🍸 in the next 45 minutes 👀.

Cheers!

Martini Bar! So they do not have the Lycheetini ingredients and the improvised version isn’t as good. Pivoted to a lemon drop and manhattan. Probably gonna keep exploring option’s tomorrow…

Cheers!

Morning from the Edge!

Night #1 was an Eden experience and it did not disappoint.  We started with an amuse bouche crostini topped with cream cheese and mango pearls. For the appetizer course we each had  pan roasted carabinero shrimp and split the crab cake, yum.  For entree’s Cameron had the lobster 🦞 casserole and for me the filet mignon and beef wellington.  Dessert was a meyer lemon tart and Azteca chocolate pie. To finish off they brought an assortment of small dessert items.

Cameron loves macarons and our server Val was kind enough to make a to go plate for our room.  Also, they had the Goldeneye Pinot Noir which was outstanding. The sommelier said they had two bottles left and would hold one for our last night, very kind.

After dinner Cameron called it a night and I hit the craps table.  It was a fun game and crowd.  The dealers were the nicest I can recall.

One thing we learned is they only serve 55 guests a night. They had 50 for night one and the rest of the cruise is sold out.

Overall, an excellent night one with wonderful service!

Cheers from the Edge!

Moving a little slow today 🍸.  Will post the daily in a bit. Although this is a 90% capacity sailing it doesn’t feel like it.

The Captain’s announcement this morning was priceless. He was walking down the hall this morning and a half dressed man stopped him and ask if he could fill his ice bucket. The Captain obliged and took the $2 tip.  He said he would use it for an upgraded coffee. 😂

Morning from Day 2 at sea! What a night it was and we are moving slowly today. The cold front made for a rather cool day and we spent many hours relaxing on the Retreat Deck after breakfast in Luminae. For lunch we enjoyed the Spa Cafe and recommend the Udon noodles/salad. Before dinner we needed to get some steps in so I hit the treadmill for a hour and finished Jack Ryan on Amazon Prime. After cleaning up, off to supper back in Luminae for one of our favorite dishes, the halibut over sticky rice. Recommend getting some extra of the sauce on the side. Only hiccup was the bottle of wine 🍷 I brought was not decanted ahead of time as requested, but we have the miscommunication figured out now with the sommelier. After dinner we hit the craps 🎲 table before the show. A guest from Alabama went on a MONSTER of a roll and everyone cleaned house 💰!  The show was more about the music IMO as the plot was difficult to follow. We left slightly early to get into silent disco🕺💃 which is one of the most fun events we do on the Celebrity ships and highly recommend. A quick swing back by the craps table which was closed 😳 and realized it was time for bed (midnight). Will post some pictures later, but here is the Day 3 daily planner.  Cheers!

Good afternoon all! This post is about being incredibly dumb by me. 😊

So I wanted to make sure my pipes were moving at full speed as with travel can come some constipation. I purchased dulcolax in the cruise store.

Took one pill at midnight. Next morning felt like nothing, so I took a second at 10am.  By 1030am all hell broke loose! We are talking a full blown cleansing.  Stomach in knots you name it.

After about 4 hours of some serious battle I was able to get a nap in. Now starting to feel a little better about food being my friend again. 😂

My advice to anyone out there that wants to try dulcolax, read some personal experiences first!  It is no joke…. But the joke is clearly on/in me… 😆

What. A. Day.

A very good night from the Edge! We have a long day tomorrow for our first port, St. Maarten.

Yesterday at Luminae we had the wonderful halibut with sticky rice. Apparently it was so good we didn’t take a single picture! 😒

With the time change an hour forward we have an even earlier morning. We are ordering room service so it serves as our alarm clock at 700am (600am est). I included pictures of the card offerings as well as a few from silent disco late last night.

Will do a post with tonight’s dinner selections tomorrow.

An early good night and cheers from the Edge!
