Very nice review. I'm wondering if those of us who have standard rooms, the classic drink package, and plan to eat in the main dining rooms will enjoy our cruise. Every review I read is like this one. Are we the only ones that aren't planning the "elite" experience? We actually spent a sizable sum on this cruise and I don't want to feel like we've wasted our money.

I've never sailed with Celebrity in a suite class stateroom, I am sure you'll have a great cruise! I always enjoy the vibe and the service is wonderful.

I’m curious, does this Night 9 menu only show up on the Celebrity app once you’re on board? Our Edge cruise is 5 weeks away and it still is saying Luminae is closed on nights 8-10?  Thanks for the great review. Very helpful.

Thank you for the kind words. You need to change the app sailing to this current cruise to see everything. It won’t update your cruise until the morning of the sailing. Screenshot below.

Very happy to see the Book Later option gives you one year to book 🙂  In my cruise docs for our upcoming cruise it says 90 days which I suspected was incorrect.

Hello

my TA has advised me to not take the book later option but to actually mak a booking on board.

The reason is that once I have booked on board I can change or move the booking

Innumerable times. But the book later option only allows me to book a cruise at a future date at that particular price , then if I want to change that booking I will be liable for any change fees. I am in the UK so it may be different elsewhere

We used it because we couldn’t decide on our January 2025 itinerary yet. We never make it refundable, just accept losing the $200. Only happened once to us.

When we last made a booking on board in June 2022, we were told you could only move the booking without losing the $100 pp if you chose the refundable deposit which was a lot more expensive than the non refundable deposit. Was a big surprise to us as we had never encountered that before.  At that time we did have a cruise in mind so we booked it.  However, this time we aren't ready to book anything else so I figure the book later is more flexible.  Sounds like if we don't find anything to book we will get our $100 pp back.

Like night #1 and now night #10 both at Eden (bookends). Here is what we enjoyed with pictures.

Goldeneye Pinot Noir
Amuse Bouche is a lobster bite
Jumbo Lump Crab Cake
Truffled Huitlacoche Risotto (killer)
Sheep’s Milk Gnocchi
Nova Scotia Lobster Casserole
Aztecs Chocolate Pie
Lemon Meyer Tart
Dessert treats

This is the best restaurant on the Edge. It’s not close in my opinion. The music from the above bar area and staring at the kitchen working magic puts you in awe. I pulled up our pre-cruise booking email and we paid $49.99 a person, excluding the vino.

A wonderful last supper…

PLAN your cruise well my friends. Cheers!

I loved following your posts. We will be on the Apex in September and then a B2B on the Edge in Jan 2024, in the land down under. The Luminae food looks as good as I remember and we only now book Sky Suites with Celebrity.

The trick is that the app only reflects the menus for the current cruise for that ship, so if it’s on a 7 night cruise right now then you will not see menus past that…

Similarly the pattern of port and sea days will reflect the current cruise, not your cruise, so it can make it a bit harder to pin down which are the chic nights etc.

I used to advise people to NEVER book the cruise later package as if you didn't select a sailing within 90 days the reservation and deposit were still good but you didn't get the extra OBC.

With the cruise now you could still get the flexibility by selecting any sailing as far out as possible (generally 2+ years) and book with a refundable deposit.  Category or price doesn't really matter as you don't plan on taking this sailing anyway.  Then when you find something you want you just move the booking to the new sailing in the desired category and select the refundable or non-refundable rate.  They will calculate the book onboard OBC based on the new sailing length/category.   Of course if you decide not to sail you can cancel and get your $100 pp back.

Even now I still prefer to do the cruise now option.   But the cruise later has been improved now giving you a year to select a sailing and still get the OBC.   After a year I believe it automatically cancels and you get your deposit back.   The other advantage it has over cruise now is that you are allowed to change all the names on the booking.  I believe this is a way to do a book onboard for someone else even if you are not joining them on their sailing.  Please verify this with future cruises before doing this as I have not done this myself.

If you are doing a cruise now booking you can book the same sailing for friends and get the same onboard booking perks for them.  I think there is a problem if you cancel your booking though so check those details as well.

Will post some random photos we missed.  First is our excursion in St. Kitts and Nevis.  We were on the Fan-Ta-Sea excursion that went to Nevis.  We enjoyed the boat ride and took a walk to the Four Seasons at Nevis during the beach time.    Very peaceful at the Dunes outdoor restaurant/bar there.  I think we will work on a water taxi to Nevis next time so we have more time.

Photos from our day in Antigua on the Catamaran and Lobster Lunch sail. Lobster was grilled on the back of the boat.  Usually a catamaran bar only has a few drink choices.  This one had many, many choices (red wine, white wine, prosecco, beer, rum punch, pina colada-ish drink, water, sodas, and maybe a couple more and all were free.  One of our favorite excursions and Antigua is beautiful.

What was the name of the catamaran company?  A google search of One Love Antigua does not provide any hits.  Thank you for your report.

Thank you so much for reporting from the ship. We're on the Feb 3 sailing of Edge with this itinerary, and it's been soooo exciting to see the pictures and hear about your experience. We even booked the Eden dinner for the final night based on your pics.

Apologies if I missed it, but if you still have the dailies from the final sea day, can you post them? Thanks!

Thank you! Cameron says we have it. I will try and post it this weekend at the latest.

Lovely review, food and port photos.  The Four Seasons on Nevis looks lovely.  Did you see people dancing in any of the onboard venues?  Based on your daily programs, it looks possible?

I think we missed Night 4 of Luminae.  I ordered the French onion soup (classics menu), peppered tuna and apple pie with ice cream (also on the classics menu).  I can’t remember what Brian ordered other than the chocolate tart for dessert.  We also tried the Raspberry Pistachio Vacherin for dessert from the Daniel Boulud Signatures Menu.
