Upgrade bid as a single?

If I make a upgrade bid as a single do I bid as a per person price or for two? For example if the cabin upgrade is listed as$200 pp do I bid $200 or $400?

If you win a bid at $200 per person, it will cost you $400 if you win. (Normally)

I'm a solo traveler and I've been offered attractive looking upgrades (before this bidding system started) and the small print always said something like "solo travelers pay double".

I bid for an upgrade and won as a solo traveler yesterday.  I did have to pay double the bid, but that was part of what I considered when making the bid.  I went from obstructed view window to a balcony room on the Aloha deck.  I am right under the pool but don't care way better than my obstructed window and for 260 total.

I certainly don't want to rain on your parade...but I hope you're an early riser!  You will be by the end of the cruise...  They start arranging all those deck loungers REALLY early!

As a solo traveler bidding on a room upgrade. You always have to times it by 2 unfortunately. The joys for us solo travelers

This is absolutely true! We had a cabin there once. Never again.

I haven't left China in 3 years.  Deck chairs, Fireworks for Chinese New Year.  It is just going to be a loud week no matter where I am.  I also live in a Chinese apartment building, and was a summer camp counselor so sleeping is not an issue.  😃

You bid for one and, if successful, will pay for two.

 

This is true if there is just one person in a cabin or two.
