M Class ships are smaller than S Class, M Class have fewer Specialty Restaurants.

If you go to X's website you will be able to see more differences there under "Explore Ships" you may have to go back and forth between the classes, but many of the physical differences will be readily apparent...

bon voyage

The biggest difference for us is the aqua spa on the Millennium is much smaller than the S class ship. Millie does not have the heated loungers only heated benches. The Murano Restaurant is not on the Millennium. We sailed on Millennium for 2 weeks in August. The ship is in great shape and enjoyed it immensely. We are not casino people so can't comment on that. The Tuscan Grill is tucked away and doesn't give the views that the S class does. The Retreat class is nicer on Millie than on the Solstice. The outdoor area of the retreat is very nice. We were on the Solstice in October and there was no exterior retreat area. We will be on her for the Panama Canal. Looking forward!!

One thing I like about the Mille is a 3rd. set of Elevators.!!! Close to Mid Ship but only on the Port Side but with Glass sides looking out to Sea on the outboard side.

I like the Revolutionized refurbishment decor and the fewer guest count than on S & E class ships. I do miss  Murano........

Mille.  was the First X ship to return to Service after the worst of Covid in June of 2021 (Yes 2021!) sailing from St. Maartin in the Caribbean as US ports were closed. Where were On it for that cruise and 30 days later when Mille. sailed from Seattle to Alaska in Celebrities First return to Alaska cruise. 3 more Mille. cruises since then and in 3 weeks we will do B2B's on it  out of San Juan. I guess you could say we Love Mille. ??

Millie is also my favorite ship. We have sailed on her twice lately. Oct 2021 and June 2022. Millie is a great ship for Alaska. Suites are very nice on Millie, great location mostly on deck 6. We will be on Summit in May.

There are pluses and minuses on both the M- and S-class ships.  We like both classes of ships.

We prefer the design of  Luminae and Blu on the M-class ship over the S-class design as both restaurants are smaller on the M-class ships.  We also do like the three banks of elevators on the M-class ships.  And we much prefer the design of the M-class Rendezvous Lounges over the Ensemble Lounges on the S-class ships.

We spent two weeks on the Millennium in September 2021.  We met someone who was on their first Celebrity cruise but had cruised other lines.  When I mentioned that the Millennium was the oldest ship currently sailing in the Celebrity fleet the guy was surprised.  The ship has been "revolutionized" and you would never suspect it is an "old" ship.

Concierge staterooms on the M class are larger than regular verandas. On S class they are the same size.

Solarium on M class has Thalassotherapy Pool

No grass on M class ships. No glass blowing. No Lawn Club Grill or Porch

Persian Garden is nicer on the S class.

Millennium has Rooftop Terrace located aft on Deck 12. Outdoor movies shown here.

Views from Qsine on M class are much nicer than on S class. (Sadly, Qsine is no more. Now this space is home to Le Petite Chef.)

M class mid-ship glass elevators are neat, if you enjoy moving glass cages.

I'm pretty sure the S class has more shops/stores.

Enjoy your first M class cruise.

Actually the mid-ship S-class elevators could also be described as "glass cages."  The rear glass

walls of the elevators are open to the ship.  While not mentioned in several years this has been an issue for folks with height phobias issues.
