Trip insurance through NCL?

Is the coverage through NCL sub-par? We don't have any pre-existing conditions, we are about 50. Two of us.

 

Do people not recommend because you can find better pricing elsewhere? Or is it just not good? We are concerned with medical coverage the most, trip cancellation/interruption is secondary to that.

When reading what is covered on travel insurance, make sure you are covered for getting back to your home country in case of emergency.  Sometimes it's not much more to have a higher premium and better coverage.  Do an online search for travel insurance and compare all the policies.  If you travel a lot ( even if it's not overseas), you might consider a full year policy that will cover you where ever you are ( even in the states).  It's all very confusing.  Good luck

NCL insurance is ok. The limits on interruption are pretty low. It has the benefit of NCL giving you a FFC if your insurance claim is denied. It is not a CFAR policy. 
 

It is an insurance policy. Almost all medical insurance is secondary. Your personal insurance pays first then the cruise insurance pays what it considers reasonable charges. 
 

Most care providers, including the ship, require you pay for your treatment and you work with insurance for reimbursement. Whether it is the ship or a foreign urgent care, you need to pay first. They don’t deal with insurance companies. 
 

Most insurance emergency evac pays to get you to the closest hospital. It does not pay to fly you home. Just like an ambulance, it will not take you wherever you want, esp if it is thousands of miles away. You can personally charter an air ambulance if you prefer not to be treated in a Belizean hospital.

I got this on top of my ship coverage.    
 

150.00 for the year.   500k medical and 250k evac.    Worth the price if you cruise a lot.

But CALL them.  Do *not* rely upon the policy summaries because there can be really important information in the "fine print"; some may relate to you, some might not, but you won't know if you can't see those details.

 

They are a broker; no extra charge to the traveler.

And they are happy to answer questions before you make any purchase decisions.

 

Note especially that "pre-existing conditions" has a different definition for most travel insurance than it does in "everyday life".
